JoenickROS, I love the N. Gin port you've made. Sounds really good and you've picked some very pleasant instruments that work with the tune. I was never a fan of the original but this may have changed my opinion.

The Tiny Tiger port, sounds pretty good at the start but once the main instrument kicks in, it sounds a little off. Maybe the volume or the severity of it, but it takes something away from the tune. Not too sure what, though.

Wait, doesn't custom SMPS music belong in the Music thread?

I'm confused because that is where I've been putting mine.

    More Lua Shenanigans:

Everything from level art, mappings, layout, palette cycles, and player control is all lua code(with some very slight asm edits)

Although the foreground looks okay, that shading feels broken, kinda like you accidentally mixed up the colors somewhere along the line. As for the background, it needs a lot of help, the random greens in the cranes and the mountains don't make any sense. I actually think this is pretty good for a first try, you'd be surprised by some of the eye bleeding palettes some people try to show off.

Actually I've seen Sonic 1337 and Sonic 2 RS, so I'll try to avoid make hacks like this. :D Thank you for hint. I've planned make hack like Sonic 3 Resort Island with custom tile art and palettes. :)

It rarely happened that I got such a boner from a simple palette edit. Awesome job.

I really like the first two, but the last one doesn't quite work for me. The progression of your palettes go from a blend of golds, to shades of blue/turquoise, and then to an eerie combination of dark grey and blood red (with brown in between). While the last one sort of works alone, it betrays the other two by not being as analogous and creating massive contrast within itself. Perhaps you can try to use shades of purple and gray:

Quickly made a mock-up in Photoshop (I don't have my disasm on hand at the moment, so I'm not sure how this visually works elsewhere in the level). Not sure if it's exactly what you're going for, but it's just an idea.

I think that blocks need more texture and maybe you could add some more detailed snow over the blocks? Also I think the purple part remember when some skin doesn't have texture(in 3D games) :p. By the way, I still like this! Good work Thumas!

I think the snow(i'm guessing thats what it is), is too flat. Make the snow look like its hanging off, covering the blocks like an icicle. As for the purple blocks, well the blue blocks look shiny as if its going for a cartoonish feel like your Sonic sprite. If that is intentional then the purple block look out of place currently.
