Here's a hack I will never see finished. Me and The Team worked on this from October 2019 to January 2020. It stopped production because the design document I made had plans that were too ambitious for our skill level. I was making revisions, but my attempts fizzled out. I'd like to thank @SMS Alfredo and @Trickster for working on this hack with me.

    The Team:
Leader, Game Design, Code, Music, Art - Kurk
Code, Level Design, Level Layouts - SMS Alfredo
    Level Layouts - Trickster

    Credits:
    Art: Dolphman, Kris (Deno)
Music: Me, JoenickROS (GHZ1 Music. Go check his music out, he's great!)
Code: Me, SMS Alfredo, LuigiXHero (SCD spindash code that we modified)
Level Layouts: Me, SMS Alfredo, Trickster

As a bonus, if you can guess the songs used, you'll win some KurkBux™

Well, only 3 out of the 31 songs are from the S3 Proto. That means you only get 3 KurkBux™ =b

I decided to add my unfinished hack Sonic Delirium here, because I don't think it needs a new showroom thread.

It has new moves like spindash and air roll
    New (bad) level design
    Weird palettes

    Credits:
Iso Kilo for a lot of help
    InfernoGear for air roll code
Chobocoda for helping with minor stuff

Well, since we're releasing unfinished versions of our hacks, might as well do the same.

This is the very last pre-reboot build of my own hack, Sonic 1 Definitive. This was a generally mediocre build which had GHZ1's layout done (but this won't be transferred over to the new builds), minor GHZ art revisions, and a few changes dispersed around the game. The hack after the reboot will probably look far better than this, but eh, since we're releasing this kind of stuff, might as well.

Changes exist in the following stages:
GHZ (Act 1 has a completely different layout, Act 2 is blank)
    LZ (Completely different water pallete)

Credits (as far as I can remember, more notable credits):
    Inferno - Main developer.
JayKuriN - Actually somewhat inspiring further development.
BladeOfChaos - IIRC, some minor art.
ManiacShard - LZ water pallete revision.
I probably misremembered like half of that.

Anyways, here it is. There's a particularly nasty bug regarding object loading which you might notice.

Since I'm new around here I might as well show off a basic joke-ish hack I've made before I start working on more complex stuff.

Is Sonic 1 just too hard for you? Do you tremble with fear at the very thought of the dreaded Labyrinth Zone? Are you losing sleep at night trying to get through that spike pit in Green Hill Zone Act 3? Lo and behold...

Sonic 1 - Hold Right To Win (a premise which may or may not have already been done as an entry for the 2015 Hacking Contest...)

As the title suggests, all you have to do to get to the goalpost is just hold down one single button. You'll breeze through South Island without anything to worry about. No badniks, no Eggman, not even some of the dreaded levels we don't dare speak of... *cough* Scrap Brain *cough cough*

You'll never find a better way to waste five minutes of your life...

What annoys me though about these 'hold right to win' hacks is it doesn't punish you for pressing left or any other movement button, i.e. reducing Sonic's speed to a snail pace or killing you instantly. These are features you should consider when you (if you do) make future edits to this mini-ROM Hack to make it stand apart from the majority of hold-right-to-win hacks. Otherwise good job.

There is actually a punishment for holding left somewhere in Marble Act 1. But as you said, I definitely feel like there should’ve been more ways to lose. Maybe if I ever do a version 2... (highly unlikely though)

This is the first major update to a rom hack I released on Steam Workshop and I'm honestly proud of this one. Enjoy!

Before I made new features and gimmicks to Sonic: ReOne, I created little testing build hacks which shows progress and differences from the original Sonic 1 to the hacks in the .rar file. This has no stolen content and all the hacks run smoothly (I think in all emulators, not sure). There isn't a lot to these hacks but it is there to play around with and to see progress from late January 2020 to mid March 2020 before I went full on with features and I created a team to help me out.

Here are all the stuff I used for these progress hacks:

    Everyone who worked on SCHG
    Selbi for jumpdash (newer builds)
LuigiXHero for CD moveset (newer builds)
Sprites from S2 and S3 are from S1 Hacking Studio
Music by LordXernom, LackofTrack, SEGA, Cinossu and more

From what I've played, this is just Sonic 1, but with the top speed cranked up, an incomplete spindash, that one Sonic 2 styled level select, and like 1 or 2 object layout changes, and other little changes taken from guides.

It honestly doesn't really feel like a "major update", unless I am missing something here? I think you should have worked on fleshing this out further before you made a release thread. This thread seems more appropriate for this kind of hack. Even then, this community has seen hacks like this a million times before already, so I would focus more on making it more fleshed out and "your own" first.

Yeah, I've played through enough of this to get all the Emeralds, realize there was no Super Sonic, and that no major changes to the game had been made. Moved the discussion to the Random Hack & Mini Project thread as there's not enough content here to justify its own thread.

This is a very, very unfinished gimmick hack. It's largely dysfunctional. I'm hoping that by releasing it, I can stop trying to push myself to pay attention to it.

EDIT: Was not expecting it to get this much attention honestly... I plan to do absolutely nothing with it for the foreseeable future. I released it solely so I could be done with it... I apologize for letting everyone down.

This made me happy, though I agree that it isn't the best idea for a hack. I can't see myself playing a fully realized version for longer than half an hour, especially because I personally find turned based battles to be the most boring way to do combat.

When I saw the name "Pocket Badniks" I was expecting tiny enemies. But this is far more interesting. Great work, and hopefully this can be touched up sometime in the future.

I love the concept, but the game seems to hang whenever I try to use any moves on the first coconut. Also Sonic's sprites are glitched too. I'm using Kega Fusion btw.
