Then they'll think that this is just a Sonic hacking centre with nothing else, the lounge is there for the break if anything, it gives the forum a sense of variety and shows that we're interested in other things, not just sonic hacking.

I don't know, but maybe read-only access would be more appropriate? After all, they have to earn being a member, so I think that unlocking the Lounge is something many members would look forward to, but first they need to prove they're not some dumb retard. I think that if we went that way, we might just have a few less retards around here. True some of the retarded kind might still pass this and then turn stupid, but then we can still tell them that and take the appropriate measures.

The thing with blocking the Lounge and Trash is that the problem is not with these places. The lounge is here as a place to talk about non-Sonic hacking-related things. Markey's right: it does give a bit of a break to the usual "ask a question, answer a question, show off a hack" things to do here. And the trash is obviously not a problem because its not like anyone's going to spam the Trash anytime soon. If anything, one of the things it in theory does is show other members how not to act on the boards. A lot of the idiocy we're seeing here is with asking hacking questions, and most of those problems are with people who want information and ASM spoonfed to them. I've even see people not even bother implying "do this for me plz" when they ask for help and instead I've actually heard people say some variation of this directly.

I completely understand the idea that people don't stay n00bish forever, MarkeyJester, but with the people here who expect everybody to do everything for them and not learn how to hack themselves they'll never progress as a Sonic hacker. And this seems to be the logic that comes up a lot in past discussions, so yeah.

On an unrelated note, the title of the replying page is hilarious..."Replying in Fucking Hell." Thought that was really funny

Blocking the Trash? That's read only anyway and it's there to show people how not to act like an asshat.

Considering yesterday's clusterfuck of idiotic posts, I'd like to recommend the usage of the 15 post Trialist system. The test doesn't work, but this does though. =P

I agree about the infestation of incredibly retarded topics and posts (note that I do say incredibly retarded, not retarded, but that counts too), but the amount of active staff doing anything on here is appauling. SOTI's usually on here a lot, so I'd nominate him for moderator to ally with MarkeyJester. He also has experience of running a board himself, so yeah.

I need to agree with this, SOTI really has board experience and could be a good moderator.

Yeah, SOTI would probably make a good Mod since he's on the forums quite a bit and he has proven he's not some fuckturd, and I think he has a fairly good idea of how to run this place.

I kinda noticed that some of his posts are strange, but I think he would make a good Staffer. We'll just see about that. If stuff happens, we can still take the appropriate measures later on.

Yeah, I think SOTI would do a good job. He always did over at RH before it died.
