Hey, did you ask Team Megamix to use that GHZ music from Sonic 1 Megamix?

 

yeah aside from the boss, it's all good practicing how to figure out how to edit them and all, but If I were you I highly suggest removing that sunset hill song before you get into some shit. 

 

Hmm, I certainly am sorry that changed music.

Because this music I have in the past, there was, and I have not changed.

Hezon, before this goes any further, where did you get the Sunset hill track from?


To the rest of you: stop automatically assuming something was stolen because it was was used in someone else's hack. It's a track from an officially released Sonic game. There have been ports of official Sonic music before, in some cases the same song in different games. Quit assuming things before getting all the facts.

 

I have asked other SMPS music to act, and he gave me this music. That's all о.о

.. I really don't get why people still use that Sunset Hill SMPS track I made, I hate it.

I made it for S1EE's intro originally, meant to be heard for about 15-30 seconds max. and didn't really put any effort into it to make it last any longer. Then we put it into Megamix, for some reason, and I've been meaning to redo it better ever since but never got the time (or had the effort/drive).

While I'd be fine with you using it personally (as long as you credit), you might want to find a better port or track altogether.

 

Hezon:

I was going to ask that you look into the author of the track and see if you can get permission (I also thought that it was for use solely with Megamix) but it seems Cinossu has already cleared that up. I will say this, though; please be careful of using tracks that someone may have just given you. As you're probably aware, we've had several instances in the past of people using other people's content without permission and it's led to all sorts of problems. Just be aware of this and if you're unsure, just ask.

Ok hold up. Now I know that Cinossu and D.A.Garden cleared things up already but for one, how the hell is this thing you call "official" if it was remade entirely by a hacker, along with the fact that this so called "official port" has no compliance with Sega or sonic team in any way? and two, for you to say something as what you said about the last part about us supposedly assuming things must mean that you yourself didn't even know where that port came from in the first place considering the version of that port is from megamix originally. You should be the one to quit assuming things all the time, as I for one always do my research first. Ok so back on topic....

@Dev:Liking how your background is coming along Dev, along with some of those custom chunks you made there.

 

First off, it came from Sonic Advance 3, a game created by Sonic Team, and published by SEGA. The track was not remixed, or re-made, it was put in a different sound font. Big difference. Second, I never claimed the port was official, I claimed the track was a port of a song used in an offical Sonic game. Third, clearly you haven't research, as as the track in question was made for S1EE's intro as Cinosuu has stated, and was ported to Megamix for some reason. It was never made for Megamix. Fourth, I haven't assumed anything here. Did I ever jump to the conclusion that Hezon had stolen the music from somewhere? No. In fact did I have state a conclusion about anything in this thread? No. I haven't done any assuming. I've inquired, which is where you ask questions about a subject that is being talked about. The only ones assuming things is you, and Bobesh8. Fifth, did I ever claim to have knowledge of the track's origins? No. Your point there is moot. Finally, who is Dave, and when did he post in this thread?

Who says you did for any of this? and yes you were assuming when you though we were telling him not to use it because that Version of the song was used in megamix Initially.

How is my point moot when again you've missed what I was saying? that and You say you have no knowledge of the tracks origins, yet you just stated where the song originally came from.

and as for dave, I ment that to DevEd. So Before this continues any further over a song as this is getting kind of dull now, Im just going to leave this be and get back on topic with this.

 

1st: When a Sonic 2 re-appears on a different console is it considered a different gane? No its still Sonic 2. Same with music ports. Its still the same song, just in a defrent format. Does it sound different? No. Are there certain parts placed in different areas? No. It's the same song.


Second, yes I did say that. However, I never claimed the port of the song was offical. I merely claimed the music is a port of an offical Sonic song. I have no clue why you brought that quote up. It does nothing to help your case.


Third, you claimed you "always do your research" which you clearly did not do in your initial post about the track, which is was I was referring to in my second post.


Forth, you accused me of assuming things. Didn't YOU say: "You should be the one to quit assuming things all the time..." 2 posts ago? Seems like you're accusing me of assuming to me. And I didn't assume, I used what you and Bobesh said as evidence. Bobesh asked if Hezon had permission from Team Megamix to use the Sunset hill theme, and you responded by saying he should remove the track before he gets in trouble. Based on your past posts, you only say that kind of stuff when referring to stolen content. Ok, so maybe there was assumption there, but at least I used facts to back up my statements, and not just going "Oop! The song was used in Megamix! It must be stolen!"like Bobesh did. And have you ever heard of these things called "exahgerations?" I was using those when I was talking about you claiming I was assuming things. And once again, the track was not used in Megamix initially.


Fifth, no I did not have information on the track's origins before Cinossu cleared things up. My first post about this was before Cinossu's. I thought that was the one we were arguing over since that's the one you replied to, and that's the one I was using for basis as well.


Finally, about your first point, from your quotes about the track being official, made it seem like you thought the track was made from scratch. I decided to make a joke about it.

Thank you for putting this thread back on track Hezon. Your art is looking fantastic as always. The sky in the MZ background obviously could use some life but I'm sure you'll think of something that's visually pleasing. Also loving how crazy your edits to the bosses are.

 

Thankfully somebody has already put this thread back on track, but let me just add that next time you want to get involved in a dispute between yourselves, take it somewhere else. I am far from in the mood at the moment to be dealing with this kind of shit.
