So... how long ago did you get this idea? I ask because ages ago I posted on Sonic Retro's message boards about a possible Bunnie in Sonic 1 hack and how her bionic arm would give the game some Bionic Commando-style gameplay.

Still sad that Christine Cavanaugh passed away some time ago.

Why, may I ask, does everyone keep confusing the ground to be made of snow? It's like that because it's winter, not because there's snow. :V

Also, thhe reason the blue blocks have shiny parts is because the sun hits them at that point (yay for defining a light source). The purple "blocks" are the inside of the ground and therefore are not hit directly by the sun, so they do not need to be made shiny. Trust me, it's intentional.

This is all, of course, assuming that in the game's universe, the sun rises in winter the same way it does on Earth and that there is even a sun that exists to begin with.

It'll all get different in the second and third acts, though, so don't fret over it too much.

It's only very recently I got some basic idea how to pull it off, largely due to tweaking the projectile code for the Sally hack which also only recently came into my belonging. The rest can be owed to Markeyjester. :D

I know, hence this time seemed a decent one for a tribute.

This is very detailed tiles, about palette in background, you need change the water and mountais palette for that fits with sky. Welp, you're probably will change BG art in future, but I found it was necessary to say it.

    Sorry for double post.
Decided to stop doing dark palettes (unnatural), and try to make a palette a bit more natural and not so weird. Here's:

Looks better than the previous palette?

Or you could just record a video with good ol' Kega Fusion. That's probably a better way to show off the changes.

I do like what you did, though.

Also, can anyone guess what I'm going to be doing with this?

I'll be surprised if someone actually gets it. Now if you'll excuse me I need to figure out how I can make this work on a Genesis...hint hint...while still making it look good.

About time I actually made something:

The 'Hey RoboticDeveloper' is a sign of how I'm unwilling to remove placeholders that I should've roughly a week ago, but something else is in the works. I'll keep it quiet for now. ;)

SYZ1 gameplay video with custom background, palette and level layout. I used a debug mode, because I didn't expect I will suck playing this and having a badnik respawn bug...

That palette is lovely. Reminds me of Collision Chaos Present.

Since we're on the topic of things that aren't obviously related to any projects we're working on, here's a picture of noodles I'll use as a bonus screen in my hack.

I wouldn't call it a "remix" because your trying to recreate the song, not turn it into something different.

    Now that's nifty...

    now...

If only I could figure out what releases the spindash, I can instead use a button press to slide instead, & use a copy of Sonic_Jump for Slide_Jump

I think its pretty cool, although I think you might need to fix the waterfall a tad, it just seems to cut off at the rocks, and it kinda looks like the still water cuts off as well.

But that's just what I think. I'm sure others see it as fine.

I think the perspective is a bit strange. The top half is fine, but the river underneath the sand dunes looks like the sky, when taking the shading of the bushes into account. The bushes are flat, while the river is wide, which leads to some off perspective issues. I've made a quick fix to this to show you what I mean:

There's no shading on the bushes, so it looks angled, as opposed to flat. The river has been shortened, so it looks like a river from a slightly further distance (which I presume is what you're going for), and therefore doesn't lead to odd proportions for what's behind it. To compensate, I've made the sky larger, which is fine because it's massive anyway.
