The water shield would look better with its orientation flags cleared in my opinion, but that's just nitpicking because I hate to repeat what everybody said <_<

Haha I like the idea you did, but not much about the simple art. Also, 100 rings is too little for give the player one continue. I think. There has a decent art at the foreground, but you must work better at the background. Making a Sonic items market is a completely new stuff I seen. So the idea is excelent, though. I know that this topic isn't the place for talk about internal hack's ideas and stuff, but as a background music I suggest you to use Walkin' or Evening Stars from Crackers to the market level.

Also, Tweaker, the new art of Starry Night sounds very beautiful but this is too much blue, I think. It hurt my eyes a bit.

    WIP Pause Menu

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this, being able to go invincible anywhere kinda breaks the game :/

Is that sand orginal? looks nice. BG is kinda empty at the moment. And it looks like someone did a pause menu like I suggested(although you proberly didn't read what I said to someone else). Any ways it looks pretty cool, and you seem faily new(correct if i'm wrong you might be here longer than I thought), but anyways I don't know much of you capabilities so I'm a bit suprised you got the menu working. This is in game right? or a mock up? and I agree don't let invincibility be spamable. It takes the fun out of the game :D .

I've only been hacking for a couple of months, but between here and Sonic Retro there are a LOT of resources to learn from and I'm picking it up pretty quickly :D

also, the menu is in game (appears when you pause) and working almost perfectly :D Credit where it's due though, it's a heavily modified version of the s2 menu tutorial on this site.

If I make invincibility, shields etc. scarce enough, or maybe make it so you have to buy them, they might work. Needs a bunch of testing so it doesn't take away from the gameplay, I think.

That's the plan, yeah. I've got the level transitions working too, you can go back and forth between levels, just gotta work out how I'm going to save what bosses have been defeated, and what items you've already collected so you can't jump back and forth and get infinite 1ups and stuff :D Should only take a couple of bytes per act, I'm hoping.

I think his should help you: http://sonicresearch.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2233

Make variables for all objects and bosses and save them in the SRAM for the later checking.

That's pretty good, a sand incorperated LZ, what an interesting idea, I'd like to see a proper sky made for it though, and your (pause?) menu is very interesting too, it's about time we got some REAL technical stuff done around here =)

Okay, I'm not going to rage at you hard like last time, but that really isn't good right now. Palette swapping is stupid, just make your own palette, which can be done using SonED2. Layout edits seem to be minimal, but it's not like I can help you on that side either. Build up your hack with decent content and come back with more screenshots, which should hopefully be better.

I would make it in SonED 2, not SonED 1, but when I load an Emerald Hill Act 1 project, it loads nothing. That's the case about why am I using old SonED 1 and Wood Zone palette. I know it's awful, but...

What you have to do is:

In your main Disassembly, go into the "SonED2Project" file > There should be another "SonED2Project" file, copy it. > go back to the main Disassembly file, and paste it. Use that file in the future to get SonED 2 working.

    Edit:

Oh, no. He means when he loads a project file, he gets a black screen. Because the project file only searces one directory back, and if there's no such file as "level" or "misc", it won't load. And for some strange reason, there are two files on the way instead of one.

    Hmmm...

Can you please post the contents of the Soned project files and what folders you have in your Spitdisassembly?

The reason why you're getting a blank screen is simple, the data isn't there. Remember to split a binary of Sonic 2 named s2.bin, run split.bat and everything will run fine.

SonED2 has a seperate window with logs. Copy/paste those logs over to here.

OK, thanks SOTI. I will try that method in disassembly.
