The life icon looks much better than before too~
These are admittedly a little old, but I never showed them here, so... =P
@Aier and I have been collaborating on the Sonic's sprites for Sonic Radiance (with a bit of assistance & feedback from @AsuharaMoon & @Trickster as well) to really nice effect thus far.
I'm really happy with the bounce in the walk animation:
...The running animation came out pretty nice too, though the head does look quite static and a bit odd in a few spots (if anyone wants to make a suggestion or take a crack at improving it, I'm perfectly fine with that):
(Credit also goes to Anne, Orbyy & Shinbs for some inspiration & pieces that we borrowed from some of their free to use sprites as well)
i don't care
hey I like your sprites, but heres some advice for it. Make sonic have 2 eyes and have diffrent shoes
Sonic: A New Adventure has seen some updates recently, and I've been working on Collision Plaza Zone:
Still need to apply some more balance to the level's palette in the foreground, but it's coming together nicely.
I'm glad you like them! I appreciate the suggestion, but I feel as though the design of Sonic in its current form is right where I want it to be. I know that the movie design has become rather popular with the release of that & I do enjoy it in its own right (my current avatar loosely reflects it, after all), but it does away with certain aspects of the character design that I find more iconic and would prefer to keep for Sonic Radiance.
how did you get the press start icon?
After a full year, I'd like to show how my 2019 Beta Remake's currently going! I've changed a lot of stuff since last year.
So, it's been a while huh?
After a pretty awful year last year, I've decided to start a new project to kill free time.
I've historically been pretty bad at making custom level art (see: just about everything in Neo Quest) so I've decided to try and improve my skills.
I started with making grass, and I want some feedback on it.
I've also considered making variants of this texture with small daisies on it or something.
Here's some stuff I'm cooking up
Your work is amazing, I love the art and background.
I like the textures on everything, I'm interested in the world you're building with these levels. I think the ground should be more distinct from the walls. Especially when you're running, it's important that solid art is distinct from non-solid art. By doing so, you could also make it less jarring next to the underground bricks. The life icon makes Knuckles' red spines look like a hat or wig, rather than part of his head because of how tall it is over his eye. If you flatten that, it should look more accurate.
Working on a new single zone hack, to demonstrate my hacking skills and creativity.
This is Techno Trap Zone, intended to be a final zone type level, so far there isn't many things related to the first word of the zone name, but it's still pretty early in development, and i expect it to take quite a few months before level art and layout design is complete.
Feedback for its current state is much appreciated.
I'm doing this. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'm fixing both HUD and the street textures on it. After some analysis I kinda found it confusing too. I'm fixing everything right now so I'll post another screenshot soon.
Finally, after many years of trying, I managed to clear Green Hill Zone Act 1 in 25 seconds! Let me show you how I did it.
Everything so far:
New Sega screen + chant
New Sonic Team presents screen (Now Iso Kilo presents)
New title screen
Different jump mechanics
Different running mechanics
Different health system + HUD
New "monitors" (Power up tokens)
More to come from this complete overhaul of a hack. And it's thanks to a lot of others working with me, I wouldn't have things like the player art or running dust without them.
