Hmm that's odd. Both hacks worked for me, I'm using Kega Fusion Version 3.64. I can't recall which version I used to test these hacks out when I made them but which version of KF are you using?

I use the the same version, primarily because of its internal recorder, but (apart from Fragile Edition and Labyrinth) none of the 8-bit roms in this thread worked for me; I even tried changing the regional setting to USA (I defaulted mine to Europe) but to no avail.

Also, on the topic of Fragile Edition... Sky High zone act 3 is effectively unplayable; when it's not Sonic falling through the breakable clouds the tiny birds are, thus preventing you from reaching the latter part of the battle.

This hack hasn't to be confused with all other "palette" hacks. It's a "PALLET" hack! And not as shitty as other "palette" hacks!

You should take it to the contest. Trust me, you will win a Hidden Palace trophy, %999 guaranteed. ;)

Just played through Night Hill zone to test this out, pretty good in my opinion (particularly switching the original emerald sprites for the Sonic Advance ones); a couple of things, but most likely nit-picks though...

    1. Did you ask RHS for permission to use his fan character prior to making this hack?

    2. A lot of the badniks look like those from The S Factor.

    1. No, but this just test minihack

2.This badniks by Sonic team, not a The S factor

    1. I think you should; the sprites looked great :)

    2. It's a shame that Sonic Team never implimented them (at least no in the games I've played) because, as you've shown, they really fit in.

I'm at work at the moment, so I haven't tried this yet; may later.  He hadn't asked for my permission to use redhotsonic, but if it's just a test hack and not going to be a thing, I don't really care as much.

SuperMember, I am glad you realised and that you've apologised in advance that you're backseat modding, and that you are only trying to help.  It's been brought to our attention that not just you, but many members are backseat modding, but are only trying to be an assistance.  Just a polite notice, but leave it to us staff members to keep everything in order.  If you see a serious rule break, then use the report button and we'll take it from there.  Cheers.

If I also gave the impression of back-seat modding, then I sincerely apologise to all concerned; I was just curious as to the use of RHS' character, and the Badnik sprites, that I made the enquiry about them to Arsen.

Also, on the topic of consecutive quotes in threads, I was not aware of this rule, having enough trouble getting my brain to register large quantities of on-screen text as it is; I think it would be best if I have my textHelp screen reader run through the forum rules section asap, so as to ensure I have a full understanding of what to be aware of when leaving future posts.

I made these for the heck of it. Don't worry, they're poorly made on purpose:

They were originally posted in the Sonic 2 GG Autodemo discussion, but I thought they'd be fitting here too.

I thought I might as well release this. This, is my first sonic hack ever, all the way back when I thought SONED2 was the only level editor and I barely had any idea what I was doing. Because Soned2 deleted the layouts for the level I was editing, I tried to use objects to make the level, the only issue being that the editor wasn't clear on which objects went to which level. Enjoy.

P.S. I added the header as a joke after it's original conception. Also, only GHZ act 1 is edited.

Also can someone do a blind let's play of this hack please (hint the first change may scare you to death)

3 changes can you find them all?
First one to find all three can have the current beta of sonic north island! After you receive it you can do whatever you want with it, you can even leak it for all I care (for the record it's a compiled version not an source)

Also don't forget to PM me the link to the you tube video after you LP it. Proving you found all three (BTW Sega screen fix isn't one of them)

edit: you can find all of them in GHZ

Very, Very, VERY early version of my hack. No art. Only GHZ 1 with layout changed. This is a test for feedback on my layout style. There is 3 paths (2 paths are major edits 1 path is a minor edit). This is GHZ 1 so I did limit myself on doing some crazy stuff. There is a sign post bug at the end where the sign post just sends you to the end. This is still being worked on so  you can not finish the level for now. Remember, If your going to try this out. It is only a layout test. I am looking for feedback to improve on it.
