The image size and the sprite you wish to replace are not the same size. You'll either have to:

    A] Make your image bigger

B] Make the mapping for the sprite smaller

or C] Make a new sprite all together (I use this method the most)

Hope this is an alright solution to your problem.

Yeah just the same as the others, you can insert a new sprite and import it on a 32x32 object, or just make the sprite your replacing smaller until you get 32x32.(press; and ' to swith between small tiles then deleate what you don't want in that sprite)

It's better to add the Spindash tiles with Tile Molestor, since there is already an instruction in the Spindash Guide (link already posted by Ollie).

About your problem: Make sure you have the exact same size for your Sprite in SonMapEd. Remeber, one block has a size of 8x8 pixel. So if your Sprite is 32x32, place 4 blocks for X and Y. This should fix the problem.

Naturally when I heard from a co-worker that the mighty shadowbeasts himself was answering questions in a forum topic on SSRG, I sprinted the 6 and a half miles home in the rain, with a broken leg, whilst under the influence of general anesthetic, just to take part in this historic oppurtunity.

When I dreamed about this day, as I have done many many times over the years, I thought the questions would come easily. Now they all seem oddly inadequete. Here is my first question: what is your favourite colour?

Here's another: if all these people know how to solve the problems you're having, doesn't that suggest that either; the questions you're asking are common sense, self explanatory problems - or - these people reached a level of understanding that enables them to calculate these answers - or - the answers already exist somewhere for you to easily read. Of course, there is the possibility that every other person here also has their own 'questions topic' where they learnt the tricks of the trade.

"Cannot import 32x32 image onto a 40x42 sprite."

    WHAT CAN IT POSSIBLY MEAN?!

Honestly, I dont feel good about this. It sort of feels like I'm shouting at new born babies for not being able to spell, but

    COME ON
! You can't just give up and ask for help as soon as you see an error message! You need to work things out for yourself. Then, next time you get stuck, you'll be better at working things out for yourself and might not have to consult the internet every thirty five seconds.

    Your biggest fan

P.S. Can I have your autograph?

Really, anyway I think I've learned but I've had no idea what I've been doing with hacking tools but now I know sort-of. Sorry to everyone I've annoyed.
