I've had problems with creating a split disassembly, Glowing Bridge's guide was useless & ended up doing it myself however no build.bat but was sorted thanks to Cinossu typing it up while on Sonic Retro's IRC a while ago. But the rom won't save even though I clicked build.bat. What is the problem?

First of all, Glowing Bridge's tutorial worked perfectly for me around 3 months ago and was what actually got me interested in disassemblies (shame it wasn't for Sonic 2, figuring out how to get Nemesis' Sonic 2 disassembly working with SonED2 was a pain in the ass), so I don't really see why it shouldn't work for you (unless it was vandalised after being wikified). Secondly, have you created a blank file named "s1comb.asm" in your disassembly folder? That's the only thing I can think of, since I don't work with Sonic 1.

I know, the "s2comb.asm" was a typo, it should be "s1comb.asm". Does build.bat output any error messages? If it does, it would be pretty helpful if you posted them.

    Code:
include.exe is not recognised as an internal or external, operable program or batch file

snasm68k.exe is not recognised as an internal or external, operable program or batch file.

rompad.exe is not recognised as an internal or external, operable program or batch file.

fixheadrexe is not recognised as an internal or external, operable program or batch file.
    What's going on?

I'm thinking it's the disassembly...Try re downloading those files and replacing the old ones...My PC fucked up my disassembly too, so it may be that.

Shoot, sometimes I build my files, and I get 1kb files. So I'm using a disasm that puto sent me and it builds perfectly, but I still want to know what causes 1kb files.

If those aren't in you're folder with build.bat, get them there.

I replaced everything & it now works so there's going to be a Sonic 1 Epsilon!

Edit: What compression format do I use to replace compressed art & how do I do it?

    ... D=

Um, dumbass, the art is in a folder called "artnem"/"artnem_u" for a reason. That art is nemesis compressed, and you're going to have to edit that. I won't tell you how as it should be painfully obvious.

    Sonic 1 - Egg Mobile - Sonic 3: "bossmain.bin"

    Sonic 1 - Egg Mobile (Explosion) - Sonic 3: "fzboss2.bin"

    Sonic 1 - Egg Mobile (Empty) - Sonic 3: "sbz2boss.bin"

That should help. Also, click here.

SCAA has art locations in case you did not notice. I'll be updating soon.
