You need to take some art classes or something because that looks like something someone threw up. Btw dont get mad I mean you admited it was bad.

You may have to amount to a different theme... With the solidity and variation of color in a zone like MTZ, a "RUSTY" look will be impossible without a major art change...

I know. Even I don't like it. But it's not just art; I fail at most things in hacking, including ASM (I usually only do minor edits, unlike what I'm working on now (read: Flying ability for Tails)), art (including palettes), and music (at least without tools anyway). Really, level layouts are my only good point.

Damn. Looks like I need to think of a new theme that will still fit with my already-planned music choices :U

Still, this isn't as bad as a palette I tried on Hidden Palace Zone a lifetime ago (at least 4 or 5 years ago iirc). How many of you remember that? You don't? Too bad, here it is:

Yes, I like it, but everyone says it's bad D:

    Thanks :)

But the SMPS Competition is proving that there are a lot of good musicians out there nowadays, some well known veterans but also several great newcomers. And I'm happy to see that, it's a sign that music hacking came a long way since when xm2smps was considered as revolutionary. But this is off-topic here, so I'm sorry and let's stop.

ThomasSpeedRunner, have you looked here yet? http://youtu.be/RJW1TeaQh4U. I'd recommend it personally ;). The key to palette editing so it doesn't look how your Winter Hill looks like, you base your tone of blue/green whatever based on the previous tone of the colour. For example: If its a dark brown, go for a dark blue, if its a light brown go for a light blue. Hope you take this into consideration.

STOP DOUBLING POSTING! I can't count how many times you've been told this. There's an edit button, fucking use it.

Okay, okay, jeez. I'll stop double posting.

Anyway, new video today. It showcases some new stuff.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycqvxM3aQas

There are three things this video showcases:

    1. Winter Hill Zone's new palette, courtesy of Berry Team Palettes (and I don't know about you guys, but I think the new palette is FAR superior to the palette I made before =D).

    2. DAC fixes for the following S3K songs:

     - Death Egg Zone Act 1

     - Death Egg Zone Act 2

     - Endless Mine Zone

     - Flying Battery Zone Act 1

     - Final Boss

And just because I wanted the songs to all have the same drums, I decided to also apply the drums to the S2 GG boss theme SMPS that nineko did for me a few weeks back (and nineko, I once more thank you for that conversion, because it sounded totally awesome when you first let me listen and it still does sound awesome :D). I will most likely apply said drums to any SMPS's used in the future.

    3. 2nd progress report on Tails' flying. It's clearly not working properly yet, not by a long shot, but I'm slowly getting there. For those who don't know, I'm coding it myself instead of just straight porting the code from S3K, since the latter would require editing Sonic as well, which I honestly don't feel like doing at the moment =P

Comments and criticisms on the content showcased in this video are welcome.

What's with the long pause while you're fighting the boss? Also the song sounds weird with those drums.

The music sounds the same to me (I.E DEZ still has that hissing sound) but you have added drums to Ninekos song but like he said it sounds weird with the song and Tails flight is exactly the same as your last video post, still have not listened to us on level layout still one path, so no exploration there(I have been working on this and in 5 days I made EHZ, and HTZ have more paths its not hard or that time consuming). Other examples for level layout is that you still have those gigantic death pits in MCZ, that SuperEgg told you to get rid of and also told you to add more paths. The only thing I can say is the palette is much better(thanks to Mike B. Berry though). Need to work a little harder, but I almost forgot to say that I know real life comes first but at least try to post something that is worth showing. It would of been better if you posted a video after Tails flight worked, DEZ had its background, and its badnik art not broken., and MCZ wasnt so cheep and had more paths(along with other zones). You posted broken stuff again which OrdosAlpha warned you not to do. Btw dont be offended by this post Im trying to keep you from getting kicked out (we all know how close you have been to that). Also dont be snippy with us(I.E. "Okay, okay, jeez. I'll stop double posting") been warned about this more than once.

I forgot to press one of Gens Rerecording's tabs for a small while at that particular point.

Alright. Guess I'll just change them back to how they were before.

Now, Joenick69 (won't quote your post, but you should know that I'm talking to you):

Point 1: Death Egg Zone's background fucks up when I do add it, and if I recall correctly I already notified you of that once before.

Point 2: I find it difficult to add new paths when I've already got pretty much my whole level laid out. Besides, I've been focusing on music fixes and Tails' flight, which brings me to my third point...

Point 3: I am coding Tails' flight by myself. I am not porting anything from S3K. I think this is explained enough by now :U

Look, I may sound like a jerk when I respond, but truth is, you are all yelling at me because I'm not very good at hacking. Tell me if I have got the wrong end of the stick.

You have the wrong end of the stick, you posted a video with broken stuff, not much to see if someting is broken just saying. We never said you were a bad hacker If you think people saying that you have broken stuff in your hack menas that, it doesnt it means you have things that are unfinished. Oh and you are a jerk for being snippy at us when we are only trying to help and posting a sentence that says is anyone going to help me, yeah who is the jerk there? Figure stuff out for yourself dude like with Tails flying code.

Edit: No one yells at you for being a bad hacker.

Honestly, how come you both are always up each others butts? I would stop riding on with this and let him do what he needs, the chances of things changin are slim to none at this rate. I seek no reason to care anymore... We've already done more than we can bare to handle. Obviously there is a lot to learn from this; even though I'm no admin or pro member, and I'm possibly out of place with this as of now. Thomas, we are NOT cramming words down your throat saying you're a bad hacker. This damn thing is completely blowing overboard and I think everyone is nearly fed up with it. I may have helped with one measly thing overall, but I can't fathom any more reason to help anymore if you guys keep fighting and quoting unneeded posts.

Yeah, this thread is turning into The JoeNick69 & ThomasSpeedrunner Show. Also, mind if I ask you, Thomas, you don't need to update us with everything you manage. Maybe get it to a state that you're happy to show us first. I just wouldn't use this thread to look for help.

Well, let's get back on topic.

And speaking of which, here's a funny little something to get us back on track...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmaNNshI6rU

It started out just as a test to see if S3K's sprite flip method would work in Sonic 2, but I personally thought this was kinda funny when I noticed it.

Okay.. I know you want to show off all the lovely things you're doing, but I think at this point it's time to utilise your own thread. Generally the General Screenshot/Movie Thread is for those projects that aren't ready for one, but you're showing new content almost (if not already) every day. This shouldn't be the case in here.

People usually expect these threads for something new, and by new I mean completely new; new project, new idea, something new on something not seen in a good, good while, myself included. Sorry if this is backseat modding, but.. yeah. :U Time for your own thread, dear.
