Do you have any idea how hard it is to hack S3K and make someting original out of it? The code isn't very well labelled, obvious default cutscenes are evrywhere, and the disasemblies I look at generally feel like a mess! Sonic 1, and to a lesser extant, Sonic 2, don't really have these problems.

And you guys still miss my point.

The point I was getting at is the fact that there are some Sonic 1 hacks that completely change everything. If the contest was over saturated with S2 or S3K hacks with the same premise as level layout and palette changes, we would be going about how there was 19 S2 hacks or 19 S3K hacks. I'm not saying that using Sonic 1 will result in monotony, what I'm getting at is that the S1 hacks we got were all fairly similar in premise and design.

Now, if I were to use your definition of "bad hacks" only being on Sonic 1 because it's lack of features, that is a foolish statement. I've seen bad hacks done on S2 and S3K, and they have better things to work with. One can make a great Sonic 1 hack and use the pre-existing levels, hell even change them.

All in all, stop with the "Sonic 1 is..." talk, because you are doing the exact opposite of what I'm trying to say. I am mentioning how we are mildly tired with seeing so many S1 hacks that are basic S1 hacks, but we understand and hope to see improvements, while you took my point and changed it into, "S1 is ok, but if you are going to do simple things, just go to later games because progress." That is a silly and childish way of looking at things. You need to start somewhere, and it might as well be Sonic 1. But just like everything though, one needs to make progress and improve their hacks. Not move onto another game because "it has different levels," as that is counterproductive and only driving the point home.

We are done talking about this. Let's move on, as we still have a contest going on, and there are bigger and more important things to discuss,

Why someone should change everything in a zone if he don't wants? Because is unorigina editing it? No. I don't see nothing wrong in keeping original layouts/zones. Sometimes original layouts combined with totally new skills or other aspects of hack can make it totally new experience without changing every single layout. That's my opinion about this.

We have free slots that are two hours each that will be given to anyone on a first come, first served basis on Saturday as many of our streamers have finished up for the week. Please PM me expressing your interest, the time slot you want and your Twitch URL (we also support Ustream and Livestream for those not using the usual service). This is also being advertised on Sonic Retro, and remember, the slots go to whoever gets it first, and they probably will be filled up very quickly.

    ● 11am EDT / 4pm BST until 1pm EDT / 6pm BST - amphobius Music Workshop

    ● 1pm EDT / 6pm BST to 3pm EDT / 8pm BST - Free Slot 1

    ● 3pm EDT / 8pm BST to 5pm EDT / 10pm BST - Free Slot 2

    ● 5pm EDT / 10pm BST to 7pm EDT / 12am BST - Free Slot 3

    ● 7pm EDT / 12am BST to 9pm EDT / 2am BST - Cobanermani456's Stream

    ● 9pm EDT / 2am BST to 11pm EDT / 4am BST - Cybernetic Outbreak Private Demo Workshop Display

Hello Chinossu, me and my team mate, TiManXD, created the mod "World Adventure Packs" for Sonic Generations. We heard that Vote Inconsistencies happened to our entry. From now and on the words of TiManXD will be says:

Unfortunately, all of the vote entries have been removed outright from the system; if I'd have left them in, then it would've broken upon finding an entry set to incomplete/unpublished.

I will re-enable the entries, however, as well as restore the use of the IP on Retro. The votes cast by people for it will have to be recast if your entries are to have hope of winning. Tell your brother this is the consequence of his actions.

This is why those not in the the Member group or higher on both forums should not be able to vote. That way this vote rigging shit wouldn't happen.

A question regarding the Results Stream; the hacking contest message says "Sunday at 7pm EDT / 2pm BST in MegaGWolf's stream"; isn't this backwards?

Does this also mean that all votes and results will be made public on this stream? (i.e. the final event of the contest)

I was led to believe so but was unsure.

    1. Yes, DAGarden, they've got the time zones backwards; we're at least 5 hours ahead of the US, not the other way around.

    2. If Elliot will have the results given in his stream I personally hope that he uploads the stream (possibally with screen caps of the results page) to his YouTube account.  I'm not sure about the hearing qualities of other hacking community members but I've been effectively deaf the past few weeks and would hate to not know what won in the end :resent:.

The hacking contest has a results page. I believe the award winners will be shown there after MegaGWolf's livestream.

All Community Trophy judging has now finished, if you forgot to vote, too bad. If you were unable to vote, chances are you were in the Pending Membership or Pending Approval groups, which were disabled from voting due to the vote rigging attempt earlier this week.

If everything goes to plan, the results show will be from 2pm EDT / 7pm BST in MegaGWolf's stream. However, if all judges have not completed their voting, the results show may be delayed or skipped altogether with the results being posted on the site as well as on Sonic Retro and SSRG as normal.
