So, I played your hack and it was OK but fun, but...

Your spike sections reminds me of my ROM Hack (Troll Sonic 2) :D

And also the rock-and-spring reminds me of my ROM Hack almostly... but you put it easier and fairer than what I did on my hack.

Also, I enabled the Level Select and found out that Marble Zone is also playable too. But, it seems that your graphical redesign of Marble Zone is (probably?) on the works but very nice, too.

And anyways, nice job on your hack! ;)

Just wondering about that title screen, the font for "Sunventure" is condensed and doesn't flow with the logo well. Are you considering replacing the font or the whole title screen by any chance?

I was toying around with the idea of replacing the title screen art but I probably won't in the end. I should probably make better looking letters for the title screen as I just squished the Sonic CD title card letters and it doesn't look the greatest.

You can't expect anyone to reply to a post you make, especially when your post doesn't really say anything meaningful or ask any questions.

I saw your post but I didn't respond because:
    - I just didn't feel like it. (mostly because I wasn't feeling well yesterday)
    - People have already criticized the overabundance of spikes before and I've already changed it. I should really get to updating that demo
    - I didn't have much to say about it so there wouldn't be much of a point of responding to it.
    - There wasn't really much to respond to anyways besides your critique of the overabundance of spikes (which again, people have already stated earlier in the thread and again, I've already fixed)
I recommend you try reading the other posts in the thread to see if people brought up the issues you had and if I've already addressed them or are already aware of them. (Looking back through the thread nobody brought up that point in particular but somebody did bring it up in the SSRG discord the day I released the demo so can't blame you too much)

Sonic Sunventure Demo 2 is here!
    This demo includes:
    - Green Hill
    - Spring Yard Act 1
    - Robotic Relic
    - 1 changed special stage (admittedly said special stage layout needs some improvement so I'll definitely have that fixed for SHC).
    - Some epic music
"oh but why didn't you fix it before you released the demo?" Because I only remembered after going to write this post and honestly I don't feel like going to fix it right now.
(Note to all you longplay channels: I know my name on SSRG is Scrap Brain but everywhere else it's Sorra so I'd appreciate it if you'd credit me as Sorra) I'm too lazy to change my name on the forums

    Additional Credits:
Music Porting: Mr. Joker 27 Music Productions
Selbi's Sonic 1 Text Code Generator
VERY EMBARRASSING EDIT: I messed up and Spring Yard 1 takes you to Spring Yard 2 which is unfinished. Ignore the attached file and click on the google drive link below to download
Download (the attached file is broken please don't download it)
Edit: This demo is bad, I wouldn't recommend you play it. I will have a better demo out soon.

So I just played your hack and I already see several mistakes. Firstly, the level design in GHZ1 has bottomless pits and dick moves.
    Sonic Sunventure Demo 2.000.png
First off, I don't like how people use the unused tiles, the prototype showed how it was supposed to execute by being a border and was used well in the Master System version. Not to mention the tiles don't link to one other, it doesn't look very nice, to be honest. Not to mention, I keep seeing that same dick move where people put spikes on sideways. There's also this bit where I gain speed only to be hit by a rock:
    Sonic Sunventure Demo 2.002.png
And what's that next to it? Level design is not looking great so far and I'm pretty disappointed about it.

As for, Green Hill Act 2, you are expected to do a free fall which is another dick move since the player won't know what they'll expect. It could be spikes or an enemy, who knows? There are also these spikes:
    Sonic Sunventure Demo 2.003.png
Go past like leads you a bottomless pit. Again, another dick move, even for the second level.

By the way, don't be like Dimps. Adding a monitor at the left unseen is plain useless. Don't do that, please.

Later, I go down the S-tubes:
    Sonic Sunventure Demo 2.005.png
And I'm reminded of Sonic ReOne. If you take a look at Sonic level design, gaining speed ends you with a ramp or a bonus rather than bonking you to a wall.

    Let's take a look here:
    Sonic Sunventure Demo 2.006.png
First off, the wrecking balls are useless to be in Sonic level design and can cause cheap deaths. You are also missing the wall object below Sonic and a spring sending you to your death.

The worst part is, with the amount of spikes, the spike bug hasn't been fixed and no it's not a feature. =P

Getting to the positives, Scrap Ruins Zone's design looks alright, you have improved yourselves there so I won't talk about it. Same with Spring Yard too, they're both linear and plays well so good job with it~

Art-wise, it looks good. The title screen art is fine although the art to the clouds looks separated and from Sonic CD. I do like the shading to the bricks in GHZ, the art to SRZ is gorgeous (even though the background reuses art from Marble Garden Zone) although the deformation needs fixing and Spring Yard reuses art from Collision Chaos (I think?). I like the shading to Sonic art, it's a very neat touch and the same goes to the custom chunks seen in GHZ.

Music-wise, to be honest, it's mediocre at best, the title screen and act clear music is fine (seeming it's from Socket, i.e. a Sonic clone), GHZ's music sorta fits but not fully, the boss theme sounds pretty empty and I'm not a fan of the game over music; it's sounds very dark and unsuited in a Sonic game, in my opinion. However, I like the theme to Robotic Relic; I think it fits pretty well.

So overall, I think the hack is decent due to the art overall and even with it being used from different Sonic games, it somehow fits in a positive way. You need to focus on the level design for GHZ and the music too, make sure both fit in with the classic Sonic games well. Even though I sounded bitter at the beginning, these are things you must learn in order to succeed overtime and to motivate you to try again and push yourself. Hope you took my review into consideration for the 3rd demo.

Just finished playing the second demo, and I can't say I'm impressed.

Green Hill's level design, in general, was questionable.

Act 1 begins by providing the player with too much of a challenge before actually providing them with rings; a heavy mistake when it comes to balancing difficulty.

Act 2 also features some cutoff chunks (like the few shown in DeltaWooloo's screenshots, which are never nice to look at.

Act 3 is the worst offender. First off, you did not resize the level, placing a large wall behind what was originally there to give the player the impression the level is smaller. I have already stated previously my distaste for such a choice, so I'm disappointed to still see it.

Second, there are no rings. Only a shield placed behind a level. As stated above, items placed to the left edge of a level while Sonic is not isn't that creative of a combination. But anyways, should you die at the boss once, you no longer have rings to rely making the boss unfairly harder.

Third, the boss itself. The boss arena is not that good. The platforms go up too high, allowing you to score several hits at once with too much ease, and the boss' difficulty can be influenced by when Sonic arrives at the arena. It's never the same, and it's controlled by a factor that less experienced players can not control with that much ease.

I do not have much to say on the level design for the other levels. Actually, Robotic Relic Act 3's level design was pretty good, despite it being on the slower side.

The music is mediocre at best and awful at worst. Green Hill's music is pretty bland and not sped up by a significant enough amount when under the influence of speed shoes. Robotic Relic's music, however, is really bad. It's a rearrangement of a Sonic 4 song plagued by awful instrument choices, making as a result a song vastly inferior to the original.

I have noticed one oddity that irked me the wrong way. Should you die while holding rings (e.g. by drowning), you will retain your rings even after dying. I'm not sure if I like that idea, it really seems inconsistent.

Overall, this hack has improved since its previous demo, but in its current state, it's mediocre. It requires further improvements and polish.

So what is you suggest?. I will make more music in time, equal, I'm busy with some other projects with the music, that Sonic 4 song was made it with The Hybrid Front instruments, if you feel that the instruments doesn't fit, I will make something better, the song sounds broken because, him, uses the original S1 driver, will be fixed the next time.
There are several things that the S1 driver doesn't support, which is why some instruments sound bad.
If you have a suggest, sent me a DM on Discord, I will stay tuned for more suggest. Thank you very much guys.

I was holding off on a response post because I needed some time to take my ego down a few pegs and realize that what I had wasn't good. I had forgotten to preface both times I posted the demo that it was supposed to be "harder" but it seems I conflated difficulty with dick moves and bullshit. Had I not made it, I would have definitely torn it into shreds for the frankly really bad level design and poor choices. I guess I just got used to the bullshit and the attention the first demo got certainly didn't help with my ability to notice it. I appreciate the criticism and honestly I truly deserved it mostly because of how egotistical I was being here in the past. I should probably go back to lurking, I've gotten way too comfortable here and it's clearly not been going well. I'm sorry I wasted everyone's time by impulsively deciding to release a second demo, and I should probably look into getting some people to playtest my garbage so this doesn't happen again.
