In case you haven't noticed, I'm expanding my horizons and am once again putting this contest across the community rather than making it Retro exclusive (it never has been before, mind you, but since I only ever posted it on there it sort of wound up being that way). I realized the error of doing this; however, and I've now brought the contest as a mirror over to the SSRG for a whole other group of hackers to take a look at!!

For those unfamiliar, this is my seventh contest, the first being done in the early 2000's. I've decided as of this year to begin expanding the scope of this project of mine which I'm starting by posting a mirror of the thread here and which will ultimately culminate in dedicated website for the contest with loads of information about previous winners and your favourite hacks =)

I'm very excited with where this is all going and I hope you'll join me as I bring the community's first and largest contest into a whole new era!!

(mods / admins may move this topic as they see fit. I felt this was the right forum, but you're welcome to change it if I assumed incorrectly)

Here's the contest rules and information, starting with the...

    PRIZES

I nixed a couple of the trophies that I thought were useless. One was the palette trophy.. can't remember what the other was. Something useless. Anyway, there is a whole new rating system which makes winning some of these different. Just realize that some of these have been changed from personal opinion to a grading system based on various criteria.

Hidden Palace Trophy - Grand Prize. Small cash prize negotiated after winning.

Wood Zone Trophy - Second Place. Something cool that I may have that can be negotiated after winning (drawings, toothbrushes, rave flyers..)

    Genocide City Trophy

Very cool (although I can't win any Trophy, except the 1337!!! Trophy... lol)! But what do you mean with this:

    A Copy/Paste Bug?

EDIT: By the way, is this Contest on the entire Comunity, or a specific Contest for each Forum?

With that being said, I would say it's the whole community. :)

Hey, I make a lot of Sonic 1 mazes. You got to see them all. I also made several Blue Sphere levels. You can find them on my YouTube channel.

'S fine and all, but you should put them in a ROM and send them to us. We can't rate youtube videos, you know :)

Yup, I'm looking for ingame play. Seeing a youtube video doesn't give us the ability to get a feel for the awesome work you did!!

..and yes, this contest is across the community and this is simply a copy paste (explaining the weird hypen bug)

I know I'll get flamed for this, but shouldn't this be pinned?

{ONTOPIC} My hack might be up and running properly for the contest....

EDIT: maybe I won't be ready....

Crap, well that's too bad, I'm not working on a Sonic hack. Nevertheless this will be great competition.

Edit: Should've checked if this was bumped...

I would love to test what I have learned so far after i quit my sonic 1 hack. A simple palette and level layout hack of sonic 1 won't hurt.
