I like how this sounds!
Yep, another simple unfinished art edit. Will work at this at weekend. Or not...
It looks very fancy. It has a Marble Garden Zone feel to it, which surprisingly fits Green Hill Zone very well.
Just Started, there's currently issues needed to be resolved, otherwise I'll scrap this. *cough* mappings.
Finally, Metal sees the game his play style was based on. Goo luck implementing him, though, I've heard CD is absolutely awful when it comes to editing code. I really want to see this, though, especially metal on metal
Oh, I like Sonic CD, and there are so less hacks of it (actually, there is only Sonic CD++), and you seem to add one more hack to the list. Always loved Metal, so I'm looking forward for this. ;D
My Cat Mario Mod! =D
Looks very nice, very generic, IMO. But are those grey pieces of art in right/bottom-left sides solid? I'm a little confused.
I Love it! The background could use some more depth, though.
I have no idea what this is, but I want to play solely to see those happy white things wander around :3
It's not a hack of a Sonic title; it's a mod of Syobon Action, a game also known as 'Cat Mario'.
Metal Sonic in Sonic CD, what next, Metal Sonic in Sonic 4? actually no that would be a terrible idea don't do that
I think sega already made a metal sonic in sonic 4, in some silly, convoluted way that tries (and fails) to feel like lock-on technology
Here is my almost final palette.
I have settled on this theme and no, I will not be changing it again.
C&C is welcome as always.
That almost looked like the 2011 version of Sonic CD.
Episode Metal. And really, that wasn't even a Metal Sonic in Sonic 4. It was just four Eposide I levels with dickish difficulty increases compared to their original Episode I counterparts.
To see a true Metal Sonic in Sonic 4, both episodes, would be awesome, but that might not be possible. if I recall, S4 uses models for characters as opposed to sprites.
Anywho, feedback time.
@Lone Devil: FInally, an SCD hack! Been waiting for one to come around. Mind, it's just Metal in SCD, but who cares, I'm just happy to finally see people hacking it. Is it the original Sega CD ROM or the 2011 remake?
@Solar: Wow, such metallic, much gray, very FBZ. Seriously, though, I like it, though it could do with a more sophisticated background.
@MrCat: ...I'm not sure whether to love you or hate you right now. Love because it's putting Sonic in, and hate because it's still Cat Mario.
@DumbLemon: Well, that's a nice palette. The colors are rather vibrant and blend nicely with one another. Just make sure you don't go making it bright-ass white. =P
Also, that small art edit is subtle, yet noticeable enough for people to comment on. Again, very nice, though you might want to make it a bit more sophisticated if you can.
Some progress of my S3K hack in concept of layout:
Also, I don't know if that palette is good for yours eyes.
The palette is really nice! It transforms the entire level!
I'd say add more variety in terms of hues. Too much of a single color can leave the level looking bland.
Decided to post some of my progress here. This is the first hack I've worked on that I've felt comfortable sharing (the rest have either been lost or absolute crap palette hacks etc.)
Story is basically: A branch in timeline from Sonic CD's Bad ending, Eggman has gone back in time and changed the events of Sonic 1 and now controls South Island, turning it into his "Dark World"
Hence, Sonic the Hedgehog: The Dark World
