    Or you could sacrifice VRAM space and use 2 palette lines to draw what you need by drawing tiles using the colours you want from each line and then using mappings to overlay them

    I thought I'd take on porting Super Sonic to Sonic 1, here's my current progress.
    I'm not using any guides, or any help. Just my own skills at work here.
    It works for the most part, the only problems being graphical since... Well as you can see I haven't imported the Super Sonic art yet.
    The super palettes also don't load underwater just yet, but I'll get around to that.
    Overall, this is a super fun and easy project.

    Updates:
    Imported most of Super Sonic art
    Added S monitor (Already broken in the screenshot)
    Fixed the music that plays
    Added a proper transformation animation
    Added the Sonic 3 Complete transformation method
    Splitted Super Sonic's art from regular Sonic
    Fixed some art that used Sonic's blues (poorly shown in the screenshot)

    Stuff I still need to do:
    Make it so Super Sonic locks in the air while transforming
    Import the rest of the art
    Fix some animation issues (Most likely linked to the copy-pasted Super Sonic routines)
    Fix Super Sonic issues that are present in Sonic 2
    Fix some more objects that use Sonic's blues
    Import the star that trails Super Sonic
    Add the "Sonic can now be Super Sonic" text to the special stage results

    You'll have to upscale the video with VirtualDub to get a good quality. I like the addition of the dust, and I think the corkscrew change is unnecessary and could unnecessarily slow the player down, but it will depend on how the level is designed around it.

    I've tried Super Sonic in Sonic 1 Several times through my knowledge. I am reworking one method in which you can transform and revert back, everything being from Sonic 1 version and not 2.
    the only things I couldn't get to work for the Super 2 port were ring countdown, the pallet issue, special stage results text. The star trail I left out deliberately.
    I'm looking forward to your finished work

    How big is the sampled song in kilobytes? Or is this song partially done using Sampled Voice/Sound with Genesis's instruments, similar to your Stardust Speedway Past song you did with Dual PCM?

    If you couldn't tell, then I've done my job well~

    It's the latter, it's a combination of FM/PSG and two PCM channels, just like the Stardust Speedway, and the Jungle track "Brink of Control". The difference being this is on Natsumi's 68k driver, rather than Sonic 1's, and there are a number of new features soon to be available when she releases the driver. The track is only meant to demonstrate the potential that would be available to you, as and when the new updated AMPS is release.

    New colors (to make the background contrast less with the foreground grass) and I had to redraw this stone floor because of VRAM constraints.
