If there's one thing I've ever got close to being (in)famous for, it's

about 3 years ago. SEGA-16's lead author, Ken Horowitz, wrote a detailed article covering possible links between Sonic 3 and Michael Jackson (link here!), and it's well worth a read. My only critisism is that he does neglect to stress the importance of the samples found inside the Sonic 3 ROM, but this doesn't detract from the insightfulness of the article.

In other news, a recent project headed up by Armada (of Project 'Mozart' fame) called 'Sofia' aims to encourage the concept of shared source code within the hacking community. This is worth a look if you want to see some real examples of Assembly programming in action. There is also a pinned thread on the forum.

About the samples, will there be a part 2 of the documentary that uses the information from that article and new similarites? (I.E. In the Closet/Knuckels theme and Carnivil Night/Billie Jean.)

Knuckles in Sonic 3 is just a basic drum beat -- which many songs use, and how the hell does Carnival Night Zone resemble Billie Jean.

Also, you're pretty addicted to MJ, I'd stop acting weird or the trolls will eat you.

Not really i more on something else ( a rickroll hater).

And it's the bass line, not the entire song.

But Knuckles doesn't have a bass -- all it is is drums and samples, both FM and DAC.

I was talking about Billie Jean. :p Anyways, the most pre-dated sample from the Knuckles theme is Blood On the Dancefloor; which was a unrelased Dangerous song until it's offical album relase in 1997.

In the chorus when he says '7 inches in' a snippet of the Knuckles theme plays. But keep in miind that this was recorded in '91.
