Since there is a direct link to the projects of SSRG on the main site, I think that maybe an exeption could be made on the bump rule in the projects forum. If there is a direct link on the homepage, that would usually mean it's an active thing, so I would say it should stay active.

Not trying to be a backseat mod, but I would think this is a good idea.

People seem to misconstrue what a "bump" is. A bump is considered a bump when a very old topic, usually on an older page, is bumped to the top of the topic list. This may or may not be a bad thing, depending on the content in the bump; however, it's usually a sign that the topic is over and done with, and a newer one might be better off being made. That's up for debate, though.

Technically speaking, the Projects forum can't really have any bumped topics, because of the nature of the thread (feedback) and the fact that there will never be an immense number of topics in there. It's not really a big deal.

However, depending on the activity of the forum, the topics displayed on the main page aren't really a good indicator of what topics are really "new." They should be sorted based on last post, and shouldn't be limited simply to the normal Sonic Discussion forum (which is more or less inactive for the most part).

It doesn't matter. What's so criminal against resurrecting "old" threads? If it was a more active forum, it makes sense. But right now you want to encourage activity any way you can.

The idea with bumping is that it brings very old threads to the main page. These are already on the main page.

When a thread is very old, you're meant to start a new one, as that one's done and dusted. However, having two threads on the same page about the exact same thing is silly and you'd probably get warned for that too.

So in other words, because someone posted about something a few months back, you'll have to wait another month or two to be able to talk about it. It's nonsense.

Another example of abiding by rules for rules' sake.

One thing I have to agree with is that "bumping" shouldn't be a bad thing to do as long as you are contributing additional information to a particular topic. Let's say the topic becomes "active" again after 6 months and you found new information about Dust Hill Zone, but don't want to waste an entire topic for it, as it's not that big of a "discovery," then that would be the most appropriate time to bump the old topic. However, if you just wanted to pop in and say "AWESOME!" then that accounts for bumping and is nonsense. This kind of goes with what was being said above, but more in-depth.
