How do i create backgrounds?

    Well,i need a little help with the backgrounds. I wanted to put one of my hack,following the steps,putting the background,but the result was...A messed up background!Can anyone help me with this kind of problem?

    Actually,I´m using Soned2.

    I don't know about other people. But my tools to edit/create awesome backgrounds are:


    - Windows MS Paint


    - SonEd2


    - Debugens or Gens+ (Just for rip tiles for bmp without sprites)


    Just this. I get my backgrounds from some background websites (or i rip from the games using DebuGens) and i split all the background (in BMP) into 8x8 tiles and i edit one-per-one... then, i edit one per one in SonED2. Sincerely, i think it's only the unique way to create great backgrounds for your hack.


    For someones i used EsrSE. But just for rare cases (GHZ2 bg was made using Esrael's ASM Edit level tile editor).


    I don't know if exist other proccedures, but this is my way.

    your both using SonED2 it seems so I can't help because I'm using SonED2 to but I haven't tried to port/make backgrounds yet.
