    Level design could be a bit better though, but hey, I'm grateful.


    The song is from Sonic CD though, rite?

    'K, today I've been working on getting logo screens for S2B and Sonic Retro in (soon I'll put in SGMC too).

    My attempt at a Retro logo. Doesn't have the star, but =P (this was based off the forum Retro logo as you can probably tell)

    S2B logo, because s2beta.com hasn't changed to Sonic Retro yet.


    The S2B logo is a little crappier than the official logo screen because the logo code is for Techies only and I also don't have the tiles and mappings.


    and yeah, I'll be working more on Egg Fortress's layout.

    You plan on animating both screens?

    Well if you manage to get those screens in the game that'll be good. I've been trying to get a screen in for RetroHack however the image_converted & sprites_converted shows that the black has changed to white & vice versa.

    I can presume that the Sonic Betro screen will have the same music as the Sonic Beta one, right?

    I don't fancy those screens much, the quality is pretty poor due to a lack of colour. They look like their only using 4-bit colour.

    I agree...those pictured looks like they were made with imagenesis or something similar. Is it using just one palette line?

    I assume that they are only using one palette line, where the other Sonic 2 Beta screen uses 3. Figure out how to have certain pieces as different objects, with there own palette, and then you will get some nice looking shit.

    He explodes too.


    This is still really buggy, though. The most major bug is that when you get 8 hits in and he explodes, he just keeps on exploding forever and the screen doesn't unlock =P


    Yeah, the screens are using only one palette line. If I could figure out how to put a full-palette tilemap in (currently these are just variations of the SONIC TEAM PRESENTS screen, imported with SonMapEd after editing), they would look much better.

    Holy fuck, one of the best things you've done. Guessing you ported that from the final disassembly?


    Anyway, that is some good work you've done here, there's some pallete problems but it'll get sorted in good time.

    Lovely work on the boss, let him explode forever. Can you port bosses from S3K into S2? I'd love that mini boss from DEZ =P


    Metal Sonic looks good also.

    Try importing that feature when the capsule appears from the sky and you have to jump and hit it. If you can port a boss, you might be able to make that possible too but it's unlikely.
