Hi guys , the title says it all really. I wanted to extend GHZ act 2, so I opened up the misc folder and opened lvl_size.bin. In the end I succeded in extending the GHZ act 2. I opened my sonic 1 rom on the fusion emulator, went to the end of act 2 and there was no platform, and sonic has a long full to his death. So, I then opened up sonED2, opened GHZ2.bin hoping that my extension will appear allowing me to put more layout and platform, but it doesn't show the extended level that I edited. So if anyone knows how to fix this I would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this.

    Edit: Is this better Qjimbo?

Your posts are getting increasingly sloppy. Stop abbreviating and misspelling words and using lots of question marks. It makes you look like an idiot and won't encourage people to answer the question. I've already banned Mystic for it and I don't want to ban someone else too. This style of typing is not acceptable on the forum, period.

    Edit: That's a huge improvement, thanks :)

I am very sorry Qjimbo, I hope you don't band me. I will really try to stop using slang and improve on my posts in the forum.

On a serious note -otherwise this post would be completely useless-:

    Code:
Resizing the level - Holding CTRL while pressing the arrow keys will change

the level size. Left and Down increase Width and Height,

Right and Up decrease Width and Height. (This is level

data size, not gameplay boundary size)

Nineko, is this for sonED2 or for something else. I just tried it for sonED2 and it just scrolls about, so I just assumed its for something else. Sorry nineko what you said didn't really explain where you actually hold CTRL. But I am grateful for you helping me. Would I need to edit sloc_end.bin at all?.

Yes. That's an extract from SonED2's guide, which is included with the program.

And yes, you have to do both operations: resize the level in SonED2 with ctrl+directional keys, and edit the level size in the file you mentioned (lvl_size.bin, since sloc_end.bin has nothing to do with this).

Basically, lvl_size.bin defines the actual size of the level (e.g. the area where you can move with debug mode, to say it straight), and with SonED2 you edit the layout itself. You can have a level which extends for 9000 tiles in SonED2, but if you have a 5 in lvl_size.bin, then the other 8995 tiles will never be shown. And vice-versa, like in your case, you can go much more on the right than the area for which layout data exists. I hope this clarifies.

Note that the ctrl+directional keys combinations work only while in layout mode. Also, you might need to do that for the background as well.

Click L to be in the layout editor and then change the lvl size using the Ctrl+Arrow Keys.
