The Rick-Roll'd meme and s1hacking questions

    1. Why is it sometimes i try to login on here it redirects me to Rick Astley's video (i've been rick-roll'd)?

    scratch 1. found out in another post :p

    2. Now That i'm getting somewhere in my hack (knowing where everything is and changing up), Using soned i try to Port sonic 2's HPZ to sonic 1, and everything seems corrupt.  Do I use SonMapEd to convert the tiles first then load everything up?

    3. my hack has Richter in the game. i go to use sonic 1 text editor to make it say "Richter Passed" or "Richter has passed" but that winds up corrupt.

    4. Recoding his whip, how do I have him use the whip stance animation at $23 (No whip) from a standing animation, resetting back to standing (wait anim in sonic's), Loading His whip during the animation (maybe changing from uncompressed with richter's tiles to "Artnem_Whip")? of course i know i'd have to also load the whip's anim. In this way he can get hurt, yet his whip alone can destroy badniks and eggman).

    5. also when loading richter's art,maps,cues in sonmaped everything seems ok, but in the game, "LOOK UP" animation is corrupt. It does this with the death animation but locks up. but loading him in another disassembly he's ok. maybe i did something wrong?

    First question. What S1 disasm are you using?

    Why?

    Because I'm sitting here trying to figure out how you backported HPZ chunks into stock Sonic 1. Bear in mind, even though S2B or even S2NA are early prototypes of Sonic 2 and have many similarities to Sonic 1, but chunk size isn't one of them. S2NA and up uses 128x128 chunks, not 256x256. With that in mind, if you're trying to back port it into Sonic 1, you are simply fucking yourself over because it will never work or happen in a million years work no matter what it is compressed to.

    NOW. In the case that you are using the Sonic 128 disasm, this is a different case. Just look at the routines given in the main ASM and see what is the compression of tiles, chunks, and blocks are. That'll be your sure fire way of fixing your own problem.

    As far as animations go, can't say much. To be frank, your explanations of your fucked up animations is confusing. I'd have to see what you mean to be able to even attempt to figure out the problem.

    Sonic 1 - Hivebrain Disassembly. And scratch the HPZ Porting (#2), i'll use Level Converter for that :p .  I try everything i could with "Richter has passed" without messing sonic's up, sonic's fine, richter's becomes corrupt.

    You're not telling us what you're doing or what you've even tried, if you're editing Sonic's or if you're adding one to it.

    Started over on the New Zone ordeal. tried a "Character Change Zone"  (not HPZ yet, but with the example that came with another copy of soned i had a few years ago), Followed the guide at the retro.

    1. Music plays

    2. Title Cards Show... and Lockup (using another S1's disassembly for testing)

    Maybe I did something wrong (but i followed every direction)

    And also what's with being rick roll'd? on My home computer, and my sister's computer, when logging on i get rick roll'd (My sis uses Firefox and i set to NO PROXYS and still does this.) Have to use library's computers to login. (this is odd)
