If you want the Tails art from Sonic 3, here it is, converted to Sonic 1.

Make/port/edit your own, that's what I've done for some of my art =P (Two examples: The Sonic Adventure style life icon and the Sonic Adventure 2 style HUD)

Yeah, seriously... the idea that the SCAA is the only way to get new art in a hack is a ridiculous, and seriously worrying prospect. What happened to people doing their own sprite work? It's not like it's hard or anything.

1 - Open a Sonic 3 ROM, set the emulator to the smaller size (which would be the size the sprite art looks in a sheet), use the print screen button, save the monitor image in MS Paint, and import into SonMapEd

2 - MS Paint. Then import using SonMapEd

Doesn't really take genius, and as Tweaker said, designing/editing your own sprite work isn't exactly rocket science.

would'nt it make more sense to remove the background and forground images first then import it?

Well it's up on Retro but I think it's just the forum. I sent Jc the files from the site back from when I used to host it but it's still not online unfortunately.

So? I started it and then i ended it. My tails code is complete! but it wont do anything. Not the:

    Code:
    jsr Obj02
makes the ROM crash. Even lea command doesn't works.

    And also:

    Code:
    cmpi.b #$1,($FFFFC906).w

    		 bne.s Obj02_Normal
(I call obj02_normal from the start of obj02) Nothing works!

    UPDATE:

    OMG hyper sonic trails?

No its a replacement for tails!

=P look at the numbers and you understand how there're sonic clones.

No its not a debug discovery but i have edited debug object list to contain sonic in it plus the S monitor (does nothing at the moment) Maybe when tails wont look like orange missingno anymore, i will put him in the debug list.

    EDIT 2 3 4 AND 5: Grammar and typos.

Notes: Sometimes, when you collect rings you will get illegal instructions And the other sonics are not soild, so the get through other objects, except rings and monitors and they can still break them.

Well, when i am going to Level_ttlcard in one of the lines it loads sonic's palette, but when i put the new palette (sonic 1's) it loads messed up title cards and when the level starts, title card and sonic's palette changes to sonic 1's palettes.

    UPDATE: Look what i discovered:

    Code:
    move.b	#1,($FFFFD000).w; load	Sonic object

cmpi.b #1,($FFFFC906).w; is character flag set to 1?

    		bne.s Level_ChkDebug ; if not, branch

    		move.b #2,($FFFFD000).w; load obj02 (tails)
its in loc_3946, basically (sorry for bad english) it loads sonic after title card sequence is finished, but all i had to do is just test if two player mode is on and if it is, it loads tails!

Now i have to edit my object code so i wont be invisible in the game, and i could move without using debug mode.
