Hi, I've just registered here and I have seen Sonic 2 hacks that have Sonic 3K's drum beats and I really would want to have that. How do I do it?

    Thanks!

There's tutorials out there for putting S3&K's drums in Sonic 1, and for putting Sonic 1's sound driver in Sonic 2. You'd have to combine both.

Now, the issue comes in that the "Sonic 1 sound driver in Sonic 2" guide supposedly doesn't port the drums correctly, if at all. So, I'd say to do what I did: make a good hack in all other respects, then ask for the working sound driver. If the hack plays well, you're likely to get help. If not... well, you're not likely to get help. So... yeah.

There is a tutorial over at Sonic retro's wiki that can guide you how to port the s1 sound driver.

Some people seem to be able to port it without the missing DAC issue, and some cannot for some reason.

There is also a guide on Sonic retro that allows you to use the custom DAC setup that Sonic 1 Harder Levels uses. Using that, you can any amount of drums.

I don't see how S1HL's driver would work becasue it dosen't have the correct sound driver.

As far as I am aware there are a few different options whne it comes to sound drivers in sonic games... check esraels site or have a look on Retro.

^ That's the second half of it, yes. You'll need to get the Sonic 1 driver from that tutorial into Sonic 2 before you can follow it.

Do I need to just do the 2nd part because I just did the 2nd part for my sonic 3k drums in sonic 1.

You do whatever you did to get them into Sonic 1, just, after putting the Sonic 1 driver in Sonic 2. I can't make it any clearer than that.

I tried to insert the dac samples instead of the sample 1 and so on and I don't know how to do the guide because DalekSam did it for me.

Have you tried grabbing the Sonic 3 samples and (compressing them, if Sonic 2's normal driver uses compression, but I'm not sure about this, and) replacing the default samples with the S3 ones? It might work...
