Hello, i am having a little trouble with xm4smps it always crashes when I click convert or when I try to load .x3v files. I have tried compatibly mode the 32 and 64 bit version of xm4smps and run as administrator but nothing is working.Does anyone know how to fix this?

What are you using to convert your midis to xm?

Did you not use the Ultimate Genesis Soundfont on OpenMPT, as well as constrain your channels and events into 5 monophonic FM channels, 3 monophonic PSG channels, and one monophonic DAC channel? For best results use either disassembly-made instruments, or .tfi files. I tried all of the above and it worked for me.

The reason I use the UG/MDS is because they act as a simulation for how it may sound in any Sonic ROM. Still, the less channels used the better, and be sure to use the correct instrument arrangements, as well as assign the right instrument to the right channel.

Other than that you may have an app problem, or a registry error, which may link to the app problem. Has this happen to you before? If so download the program again and replace it.

    Ignore the guy above this.

You're using a new version of ModPlug, right? It fucks up XM compatibility by adding stuff to it.

    Use MilkyTracker or something.

    As for voices, either;-

    • Your x3v is broken
    • it's xm4smps's time of the month
    • your computer doesn't like xm4smps

(Sorry for post on a topic where the question is solved already, but...)

If you get broken tempo with MIDIs when open them in OpenMPT, just reduce the MIDI's tempo using FL Studio or Anvil Studio to 120 or less. This should solve any tempo issue when you open your song using OpenMPT or any other tracker.

And I'm sorry XM4SMPS followers, but XM3SMPS Oergomized is much better in terms of resources and has less bugs.
