Ok ladies and gents, because so many of you have downloaded my disassembly, and have started trying to use it. I bet lots of you are wondering, what is this disassembly capable of? Well, this hack...is probably not going to show you, but I just want to release it anyhow as a proof de concept to showcase what it can do. If some of you haven't figured, I love Casino Night, in fact I was going to release a tutorial showing how to port levels, using CNZ as an example... but enough of that. Here is the release.

Added in CNZ, both acts. Palettes, collisions, everything is working. Only rings have been ported, objects will be later.

Also, changed the level select screen text slightly to show that I have some hacking skillz.

And finally, I have made it half possible to play through GHZ. Due bear in mind, this is just for show, I may re-release it later with some more fixes.

So what advantages are there to basing your hack on a beta version as opposed to the final version?

Well in essence you get sonic 2 with a sonic 1 engine (well for the most part) plus its a facsinating insight into how sega developed the game from sonic 1 to sonic 2.

I try to play the hack, and I get a scrambled SEGA screen and the game freezes.

Hmm, that is quite weird. Then again, I'm never tested it on Gens, due to the fact I use Fusion, seeing it is more accurate. Hmm, that is quite weird. I guess I need to figure out why later today. But at any rate, I'll make that note for later releases of my disassembly. Anyway, Crash, you wanted to know why I would use S2NA instead of S2F to hack? Well 1, b/c I'm already working on a S2F hack....don't worry bout it, next, b/c S2NA hacks are so hard to come by, and 3, because I've always wanted to after seeing Eraseal do one for it. On that note as well, I've always found S1 easier to hack than S2F, b/c s1 doesn't use all of the ridiculous ram address names, which makes it easier for porting,....which if you didn't know yet, S2NA is basically S1 with a few modification, like the 128x128 chunks, similar to MarkeyJester's mod. Anyway...Like I said, it is just a proof de concept. BUT....I may continue on with this.

Fusion? Accurate? My ass. Use Regen if you want accurate emulation. (Yeah, I'm a dick.)
