So, I got bored earlier tonight, and instead of doing my homework, I decided to see all the files in SADX and see if I could find the GameGear ROMS. Seems I did find them, but they are in .prs form. The name of the files go as followed

    G-Sonic.prs

    LABYLIN.prs

    MBMachin.prs

    S-Drift2.prs

    S-Drift.prs

    skyPat.PRS

    Sonic.prs

    Sonic_TT.prs

    Sonic2.prs

    Sonic-CH.prs

    SonicDri.prs

    SonicTai.prs

    Spinball.prs

    S-Tails2.prs

    TailsADV.prs

And to answer your questions, I did test it. Switched the Sonic 2 and Sonic 1 name around, sonic 2 was saved as Sonic.prs, and vice versa. I opened up SADX, selected to play Sonic 1, and it sets me up with Sonic 2. So, I guess now is the time to figure how to convert them into a .gg format....

I'm guessing you already tried the obvious… Renaming them and seeing if they run in an SMS emulator…

Just compared them to original GG ROMs. Data seems original -- nothing was changed or converted, but everything is compressed by some algorithm.

Also, why to convert them, if you can freely download GG Roms of these games? =P

With the PRS Decompressor and PRS Compressor on this page, you can decompress the ROMs to play them in a GG emu or replace them with other ROMs. The S1 ROM is just an ordinary S1 ROM, and I assume the others are too.

they are, I assume anyway. So the next question is, where is the emulator? Is it in the actual exe itself? Could it be possible to instead exchange it for a Genesis emulator?

Yeah it's built into the EXE. Replacing the emulator code would be possible (anything's possible), but extremely difficult (I don't even know where it is) and mostly pointless (standalone emulators are much more convenient).
