Here are a list of games using different Sound Drivers:

Note: Using SMPS Z80 instead of SMPS 68k means

saving CPU cycles and saving RAM $F000-$F5FF.

Sonic Crackers/Stadium with Sonic 1 SMPS 68k Sound Driver:

Sonic 2 Beta with Sonic 1 SMPS 68k Sound Driver:

    Sonic 2 Final credits music

Sonic 2 Final Hill Top music

Ok... and the point of this is...? There are a ton of different hacks using modified sound drivers, so why are these so special? Besides, a quick search around Google will yield me the same results, and I really don't see the point of making a separate thread for it. Also, Crackers crashes when I boot it up in Regen, how nice.

Doesn't with me in Regen. Unless you mean an unmodified crackers ROM, then yeah.

But yes, what is the point of this? You haven't stated this in your post and/or what you're trying to prove.

I'm using the Crackers ROM he provided. When I boot it up in Regen, it crashes after I press start at the title.

Using the Z80 driver in Sonic 1 saves RAM.

Without trying to backseat mod. Wouldn't this be better in the random hack/mini project thread?
