Out of pure curiosity, I looked this guy up since he said he used to work at Traveler's Tales, and no, he sadly didn't work there at the time of Sonic 3D Blast. He DID, however, work on the majority of the Traveler's Tales LEGO games, and apparently even significantly improved the audio engine. So that's... something.
Here's a link to Matt's genesis homebrew kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/63454976/tanglewood-an-original-game-for-the-sega-genesis-m He also made tutorials for working with the Genesis (targets ASM68K for the assembler of choice): https://bigevilcorporation.co.uk/2012/02/28/sega-megadrive-1-getting-started/
That and they act like it takes a high amount of knowledge to learn it. As long as you know how each command works and how to work with them, it's really not that hard to learn [at least the basics anyway].
I wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting it to be. Mainly full of people in awe that someone knows m68k asm lol.
