General Screenshot/Movie Thread

I actually found grass a pretty good contrast for industrial environment in background. Theme doesn't need to be about industrial only, mix of certain elements can be pretty interesting like Stardust Speedway, when city BG is mixed with trumpet-like FG roads or Collision Chaos when grass is mixed with Casino-like shit (bumpers, flippers etc.).

 

Turn the grass into Neon tubes of light, ones that are shaped like glass, but maybe cycle palette them slightly to glow. That way, you can keep the grass whilst still catering to the "futuristic" theme =3

I say that because it is well detailed and the shadowing that you put on super sonic.

Have you tried to drag the attached file directly?

 

I hit the image button on the format bar in the reply thing and paste the dropbox link and it doesn't work. the Dropbox link goes directly to file so it should work so I'm not sure.

 

Or just remove the "?dl=X" tag entirely and replace "www" with "dl" (it'll lengthen itself to "dl.dropboxusercontent.com" automatically, and is easier to type).

 

I got it fixed thanks to Xeal, As for this, It is the 32X. Unless you mean the original version of the sprite from Chaotix with the Non smooth shading from Crackers?

 

With the original version I mean the one not used in chaotix 32x.

I have a project in the works, and I want to show you a level that's finished.

If you want to rip sprites, wait until I release it. This image is filtered (sort of).

Edit: Project Cancelled, because I really wanted to work on my other project, with much more changes since it used Kraminator's Project 128.

 

The art here is bad. It's just the same bland, flat repetitive tiles. Please wait until you have something more to show before you post it, because at the moment this is looking bland. Also, I don't know why anyone would want to rip the sprites, as all you have is a small, repetitive diamond texture for the dirt and some strange diamond tiles replacing some of the transparent blocks. The rest of the art is just Green Hill, Chaotix HUD, and a palette which I think is taken from somewhere, I don't remember where though.

 

Palette is from ReadySonic's warm palette option.

 

First post here, though, so props to him getting SonLVL to work.
I definitely agree that the art there is pretty simplistic, but the idea of having some sort of gate in the foreground seems like an interesting one. Great for a start. I hope to see that it improves from here.

All code involving animation and theming is custom, themes can be switched on the fly.
(Why I implemented both of these is perhaps a question for another day)

It's really a neat stuff you have there, man. Although I could easily think that your screenshot was made in a paper due to how incredible it looks. It seems that you finally decided to how Sonic's visual side will be in your game. That's a incredible job you have there, dude.

 

After tons of work, I finally got this into a ROM.

I love it! The zone feels like it's a nice mix of the Game Gear and Genesis versions of Green Hill(if that's what you intended, I suppose?), while also throwing in some unique bits and bobs here and there. Nice work, Unlimited Trees. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

 

Recently I've been devoting my spare time to a Hill Top Zone mod for Sonic Mania...
