    This is looking really nice. Good use of colour, and it looks quite cohesive.

    There's 2 things that were immediately apparent to me that I would recommend you look at, though:

    1. The HUD numbers are very hard to read. The original games uses black/white to create contrast regardless of what colour they are in front of. As the numbers here are grey, and the shadow is black, there's a lack of contrast on/near certain colours (In particular, I couldn't distinguish between 0 and 9 on both images 3 and 4)
    2. Tails seems to be behind the purple structure in image 3. As it uses darker colours, I was expecting it to be low priority instead

    Otherwise, a really solid looking project. I look forward to more progress.

    Just a quickie, but I optimized Sonic CD's time warping a bit.



    The following changes were made:
    - Disabled the cutscene
    - Changed graphics compression to Kosinski moduled to speed up decompression times
    - Level files are now modular, so when time traveling, only the appropriate time zone data is loaded, while anything shared between time zones is left as is
    - Time zone data loading starts as soon as the screen locks and fades to white, instead of after

    This is only merely a POC and only actually works when traveling to the past in PPZ1. I'd have to refactor every other level file to work in this new system.

    So... I'm bringing Maxidrive back to SHC, with two fully playable zones. Here's a trailer made to resemble the Shinsaku Soft Video segment for Sonic 1. Special thanks to @Giovanni for level layout contributions.

    Oh, actually using part of Wood Zone assets in Labyrinth Zone is a pretty unique and creative idea! I really dig that. The level layout looks solid enough as well.

    Hey guys! I finally have more stuff to show for Nature Islands.
    The original plan was to make a demo for SHC 22, but since we wanted to include more stuff that couldn't be done in time, we decided to go for next year instead, so see you at SHC 23! (maybe, hopefully)

    The past few months have been really important for this hack. The art and story direction have changed into something bigger than it originally was, and that caused us to take even more time to really be able to show anything for some time.
    We pretty much ended up redoing Forest Valley 2 and 3, as well as redesigning other things, as we begin to aim for a more 3D look (the HUD, Sonic, the title screen and even the FVZ2 trees sort of reflect this).
    Thankfully this is turning out to be much better than the original plan, and I'm really excited to show what's in store after this!

    Without further ado, we're excited to finally show you some proper gameplay (as well as a little trailer of sorts for the first half of the video!)

    Hidden Palace Zone Restored using Level Converter, yes the objects has corrupted sprites, don't feel like fixing it.

    There's a ton of charm here, and I love it! I will say that I'm not a huge fan of how the badniks bounce away after being hit, as it looks a bit awkward (especially since they don't appear to bounce in the direction they are hit?)

    Either way, keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing this shape up.
