Now... this looks quite nice!. I can tell there are use arts from other games in here but the combinations you've done really works here!. Also the colours used here are beatufiul. This looks like some sort of jungel background. I get a preistoric vibe from this. Keep it up!.

I had already tried previous versions, and I liked it.
In general it seems that everything is well done,especially to put new shield types that allow sonic to use new abilities end new art.
I can't wait to play this

I think it definitely needs more work. Probably be best to show something off when you have something more presentable.

 

Trent, while it's nice to see you hacking and being a part of this community I have to say your artwork definitely needs some variation.
I advise you look at other games as reference material such as other Sonic games so you can see what makes their level art stand out, it can really help.

 

I am working on the variations, guys! Just be patient.

@TrentMinecraft I'm going to say a couple of things. And I don't want you to respond, because I want your last couple of posts to be something worthwhile.

First of all, don't double-post. It's in the rules you agreed to follow when you signed up for the forums. I've merged your posts as a bit of a kindness. Don't waste your last two posts. Second of all, don't brush off critique because "it's WIP". Not only does it make you seem close-minded when it comes to critique (which leads to less interest in your hack in the long run, and makes people less prone to work with you, as it makes you seem incredibly close-minded). As it stands, the art is fine-ish, but overall mediocre. Nothing too offensive, but nothing too standoutish either. Like most others have stated, it definitely needs work. Kudos for trying something different, though.

You get mad about people making memes out of your work. Yet you make bizarre stuff like this...
You know this thing is going to get a way more lulzy reaction out of people than your boss from your entry this year right?

 

One thing I've always wanted to do, was improve the mini boss theme somehow. It always seemed to me like there was something missing, and I believe it's the two notes trying to form a chord, they appear to be missing a third note. This is all most likely because of the FM channel attempting percussion instruments.

With two PCM channels, this of course is no longer an issue, so I ported the song over, and tried to create the third note to the chord. At first, it did throw me off, it didn't seem to sound right initially, though while I'm certainly not the best of musicians, and some of the chords are probably off by a key, I'm to understand that it's simply because I'm so used to the third notes being missing, that it sounds weird when they're present.

What do you guys think? Does it start to sound fitting after the third, fourth or fifth playback? Or does it just not sit right no matter how many times you play it?

 

Will you be doing other Sonic 3 tracks as well? Nice sound test screen by the way.

 

the extra note alone makes it sound a lot better than the original. sounds great overall.
