That's quite blue. In fact it's very blue. You might want to tone down the saturation.

Yeah -- it's hard enough trying to see what's going on when the background and foreground are the same colour. But you can't see Sonic either with that colour scheme!

Background idea is good but try making the foreground or background different colors or shades because the color scheme seems to blend in which each other.

The one thing I will say, is that I like the look of those cylinder pillars in the foreground, some nice pixel techniques used!

The rest needs some serious seeing to though...

I really like how the explosions move a little bit in random directions. Makes me wonder why I never thought of that. The boss is also great, although I can see myself having trouble if I don't know the pattern.

Its good but parts seem a bit all over the place if you know what I mean. The bombs falling from no where randomly all over the place I don't like that. Maybe you could some how put a small attachment to eggman which acts as the thing that shoots the projectiles.

I have been working on some new LZ art for my hack (old one was poor...)

Comments & Feedback are welcome :)
don't mind the new palette as this was picture was taken from a clean Sonic 1 source.

Anyways, regarding the videos up there...

That boss is fucking awesome! Though, I have to complain about how fast it moves around, it could make it a bit difficult, but hey, I still love it :)

I'd say the light & shadow directions lack consistency. On the old art and bg, light comes from the top/left, on your new art it comes from the front.

It isn't always a problem, especially with columns, but you may want to avoid it on blocks.

Well, I like the different tiles so far, and the palette also looks really good. Although, my only problem is that a couple of the blocks have some tiles that don't seem to match.

Nothing Special, just tried my hand at an evening palette I whipped up for HTZ, and need some opinions on some songs that could fit it.

What is it with almost everyone using those awful Sonic sprites by Takashi Yuda from Sonic 3?

The Sonic 3 Sonic sprites are okay, but they are pretty much overused by now. It's gotten to the point where I'm tired of seeing it.

Sprites are not everything in a hack.

Edit: If someone told me they were not going to play my hack because of the Sonic 3 sprites, that's pretty sad.

Edit2: Also we cant all be expert sprite artists, so we use sprites that are already made, that's why.

Edit3: So going back to my last post how is the palette and is there any music you guys have in mind that could work with it.

I think the point he was making is that the S1/S2/SCD sprites are superior to the S3K sprites.

I like the S3 sprites but they are only good if implemented perfectly (which has never happened IMO).

More people should use the Sonic 2 sprites.

    EDIT: GODDAM NEW PAGE!

I dunno what you're talking about, but in BAB, I've correctly implemented the S3K sprites by porting the whole damn thing from S3K. It's not all that hard.

I like the palette, but if we are talking about sprites sorry the S3K ones are the best IMO. Next would be Sonic1, and Sonic2 is my least favorite. But honestly I don't think the palette needs any work. :p
