Actually, I used HivePal which is compatible with the palettes files of a disassembly.

Works rather nicely and is a much easier way to edit them than with hex or in SonED2 directly, which has a few issues with palettes and S3K.

Those are some very nice pallets. The mushroom hill one though seems to make it look like behind the trees is a bit, I don't know.....Empty? Also, in Angel Island, is part of the floor supposed to be transparent or is that a momentary bug?

Thanks for the feedback on the palettes, I appreciate it. The Mushroom Hill palette is supposed to look a little dark. It's hard to change behind the trees when you have the one colour to work with. I experimented with a range of colours, but blue and it's variants work the best.

And AIZ is supposed to look like that. I was experimenting with the level chunks and they fit like that so I thought why not. It makes more sense in game.

Is it possible to add another layer of parallax behind the trees? Would be awesome if someone would do that. I think a gradient would probably due the job just right.

No, it's not sarcasm, some members like to post very small replies without thinking, probably just to increase their post count, my advice is to take no notice really.

My opinion (on subject of your screenshots) is that it's a very basic, but clean, level design, however it seems as though this is just a temporary test zone, would I be right? If so, do you insted on keeping it?

I was thinking of making my test zone a tutorial zone or something like that. I'm not really good with tiles to be honest, which is why I posted them here to improve on them. But nobody has seem to of told me anything of the like until now I suppose. To be honest though, I'm not really sure, I think my game can go without a tutorial zone. Everyone should know how to play Sonic 3 And Knuckles by now. I'm struggling a bit with my first zone art, mainly objects and scenery wise.

Just one question: Is this a fangame engine or a Megadrive engine?

Fan-game Engine clone of Sonic3andKnuckles. Why, is that a problem here?

No, he was just asking which engine you are using.

Just wondering.......I know how some hacking communities are anti-fan-game.It's a custom engine anyway.

I was curious, because if it was a Megadrive engine, you'd probably instantly get Tech Membership on Sonic Retro. =P

    But yeah, really nice stuff.

And MicroChirp, the urge to press the big red "ban this member" button is raising with every new post you make.

Thanks Selbi, I like your stuff as well. Quite fond of yah xD. Anyway, I'll probably show more soon, granted I do actually make more progress. Which isn't likely since I can't think of stuff to do for my first level graphics wise.

I'll probably show a video sometime this week. If not, today.

I guess I'll make my first post showing the zone I'm currently working on.

I feel that the wooden parts might not match and that the statue needs more work. Any suggestions?

Statues, and more generally stone, can look very good with dithering. Here it would probably give more volume to the statue. I think you could also add some shadows inside the dark grey area and around the square stones on the wall.

As for the wood, you can replace it with whatever material that red fence is meant to be made of.

Also, it's great to see slopes, really. :)
