Awesome! I played this hack 4 years ago and I loved art and level design (I found this somewhere in Sonic Retro forums, but I don't remember topic), especially in Great Gate Zone (thank you RedHotSonic for recreating this zone in your hack Sonic 2: Recreation Part 1!). I hope you finish it, because I see in this hack huge potential and soul!

Don't mind the bugs, I'll fix it. No debug mode. :)

You do realise you have 2 typos in this screen, right? SOUD TEST (Should be Sound) and STOPEED (Should be Stopped). Other than that, it looks pretty good. The art for the text is something new I haven't seen before, and I like the scrolling stars background as well.

    This looks very good Blad!

Now, for my part... I try to recreate Sonic Unlimited in the Sonic 1 Hacking Studio, created by Vladikcomper.

You shouldn't use Sonic Hacking Studio if you're trying to make a respectable hack. There's nothing interesting in using a tool to do the work for you.

Here are some screenshots from my upcoming hack: "Sonic the Hedgehog-Chaos Control". It's nothing that will wow you or anything since this is my first ASM hack ever. The demo will be released soon and it will feature the first zone: "Grassy Plains Zone". Credit to Vladikcomper for his S1 Hacking Studio pack.

I am aware that the waterfall cycle palletes clash with the rest of each act's colours, that is something to fix. I look forward to your opinions.

@TheFieldWarrior: While the palettes looks decent, Im sorry to say that after seeing that you said that this was created using the S1HS, im not all that impressed. To me, S1HS is kinda pointless due to the fact that your limited in editing more than just basic level layouts and adding codes such as the spindash or a jump dash. not only that but it's promoting nothing but laziness for anyone that uses it. now if this is like a beginner hack then ok, But like selbi said on SonicBurst post, If you ever want hopes in making a hack worth playing later on, I would also suggest not using S1HS and eventually learn how to use a Disassembly.

@HackGame: Umm.... Exactly what was the point of this post other than a video that's basically just a clip of the final boss from sonic 2?

Oh ok, i will search the new version!

I do that only for tests. I want the CD-spindash in my hack. So i must add that by myself :) I am only doing fun tests with it. xD

Act 1's water looks not good... When this is a bug, please fix that.

    Act 2 looks very good!

Act 3 is only the sky changed to be more black. I like that idea, but it fits not with Green Hill i think.

Act 4 is having a green water and a green sky. That looks not really good.

@‌Blazer: I respect your (and everyone else's) opinion on S1HS, I knew this wasn't going to impress anyone. There is a lot more going into this however, when I first started the project it was your basic S1HS hack: new level layouts, new palletes, each act having it's own music track and "new" moves for Sonic. However while working on the hack I was watching Razor and Zenon's hack videos, some of the hacks they showed off were made in S1HS, some were decent while others had poor quality. This pushed me to add lot more things to my hack to make it slightly distinctive from other S1HS hacks. While some of these changes are pretty standard (such as porting the REV01 background effects and fixing the "Press Start Button" text) almost everyone who makes a hack with the hacking studio never adds these features. Thanks for the advice though. When I finish this hack I'll make a newer version of it in a fresh disassembly and add my own features.

I agree with this, but the reason I use it every now and then if I want to make another hack, to port the spindash I'll have to go through the trouble of the asm and graphics before I can get a mostly-functional spindash but SHS can quickly do it so I don't have to waste time and can quickly move on to level design.

And, as SonicBurst said it's a fun tool to use to play around with and see what could work well in your hack, but I definitely agree if you're above beginner level you really shouldn't be using it.

That's why I just keep a copy of a disasm which I added the spin dash to around.
