I won't be able to finish the whole thing, and from what I know there're at least 2 good hacks next year I'm not competing with! :p

also, Animemater, the tree on top is on the top of the grass, it's behind Sonic. Trees that are on the same position are in front of Sonic

    See you this Christmas.
There's a demo coming sometime around Christmas, and a full game coming next year. See you there!

    COPE
Edit: Alright, just to not waste my posts, the zone in the first image is called "Egg Plant Zone". Eggman had taken over Green Hill Zone and had mad it into his Pipe Utopia. It's basically Mecha Green Hill meets pipes. The next image is (obviously) Green Hill Zone, after Sonic has got rid of Eggman's control over the area. It's supposed to be the last level in the game, and for the demo I'm planning it's gonna be only one act since this is basically edited over Scrap Brain Zone and Act 2 is just a mess.

That looks spectacular! Though what is the zone on the top supposed to be? Sorry for the ignorance here, but I can't really make it out.

EDIT: Nevermind, I re-read the post above and saw what you were trying to do.

I'm not a fan of everything being tubes in the first picture. Is this supposed to be a grassy zone or an industrial fake-grassy zone? It's hard to tell what the zone is supposed to be and makes it too abstract for my tastes. The second picture is much better although the contrast kn the ground could be reduced. The palm tree stem could be made thinner too. It looks like it belongs on a completely different kind of tree.

    Edit:
    0/10 there's a finite number of trees

Pipe zone? too many repetitive pipes (assuming that's what they are). I mean sure, different colour ones but they are all detailed the same. And pipes should be connected, or if your going for open pips make it look like it's open with perhaps a water drip hanging out. But yeah, as ProjectFM stated, it's hard to know where you going with the first pic. The 2nd is much better in comparison, though not sure about the red on the blocks.

Whoa whoa whoa, now that's busy art.
The colors are too jarring, especially on the first pic and Sonic himself, I'd suggest to edit the palette, also, I'd suggest to
change "Pipe Zone" completely, it hurts my eyes, because there's so much stuff in it, and the color palette doesn't help very much...
Also, what are those floating...bubbley...thingies? Also, one of the tubes is badly connected to the other.
Second pic is ok, I see you were trying to replicate proto GHZ, and while I may like the shades of green and brown in the foreground, and how you edited GHZ's pattern, the background still needs some work with the palette, because that sky looks unnatural, and the mountains aren't shaded in the correspondance to the sky.
I'd also suggest you to redesign the "palm-tree", simply because it's weird, those leaves do not belong to the trunk at all.
Needs some work, but is kind of neat.

    Holy shit.

I must say that the second screenshot is something i never expected from someone who made a broken Pepsi hack not too long ago. There's a few complaints, but it has so many potential!
You however should really remake that palmtree, leaves look out of place. I'd also suggest removing the wall at the very bottom to fill it with something more interesting. C'mon, you CAN do it! :p

The 1st screenshot? Meh... Not really much variety going on and it overall looks like a lazy ghz edit. Really? I'd say trash that and make a new one from scratch with more detail and variety, or... y'know... continue to work on that lovely 2nd screenshot... really, i liked it!

Edit: lame mistake in 3nd paragraph...

GHZ's art still needs some tweaking before completion, but overall it's coming nicely in my opinion.
Note however, that mostly everything is a placeholder, as the palm trees, grass and background, at the moment, only GHZ is close to completion and while I've shown MZ before, it was just to anticipate me some work.

I hacked the Sega screen in Virtua Racing to make it load the "A" models for all 4 letters.

The "SEGA" in the background gets displayed once the letters form together, so that's why that's there.

I remember this! It's about time you switched to a disassembly and continued this~

Now that you have more control, do you plan to redraw the art to be x2?

I had two different approaches I could take to this. With some levels, I have enough to work with that I can simply adapt tiles or blocks to make workable chunks that are the "correct" proportion. With other levels (Balloon Park especially), I am redrawing the art to be twice the size. Things like the giraffe head in Balloon Park will simply look better if it's properly scaled up. I will most likely do this with Endless Mine as well as the boxes have not been as adaptable as I had hoped. I've had pretty good luck so far with Azure Lake, Desert Palace, and Chrome Gadget, though.

    NeoFusionBox: Happy to please!

As for you, Sonic Boom... yes please. You know where to find me!!

oh lookie, a rescale I did and stopped working on, this might save you some time

a little back-story to this: this was meant as a extra level for Sonic the very useful engine, with "99 red balloons" playing in the background, never got around finishing it, though I had finished the main part of the level (unfortunatly this seems to be the last backup I had of it, so the section before the loop hasn't been redone yet)

Never been a huge fan of Chrome Gadget, but it looks like the perfect substitute for Metropolis Zone.
Is this gonna be for a hack of yours?
    Also what is Yule 2016?

Yes, this is for a hack of mine that I'm remaking. There will be more info once I create a thread for it on these forums. As for the Chrome Gadget hatred, how about everyone's favourite, Endless Mine?

It's one of my problem levels, though, so I was trying to hold off on showing that one off.

Yule is the pagan Christmas. The date is December 21st. It's also the Winter's Solstice, which seems a far more logical thing to celebrate (personally, of course. I have no problems with whatever sky man / men / spaghetti you worship), so I tend to do my holiday celebrations on that day.

    . . .

Why yes, that's exactly what I was looking for and then some. I hadn't even grabbed the rotating stuff, the flag, or the balloons even. You'll be added to the credits... or do I need to give credit to the people listed in the image? Or all of y'all?
