General Screenshot/Movie Thread

Some things I can't tell what it is. The water's "dithering" looks too similar all the way down, the grass is...well...grey mush. And the "bricks" are way too small. As ProjectFM said above, use some variety in the tile set, so the art truly "pops" out more than the others. Oh, and I recommend adding some sky dithering. It can truly improve the horizon.

I said I was done with hacking, but I had unfinished business to take care of.



No memes. No extra gimmicks. No badly made engine. Just your normal, average Sonic the Hedgehog ROM Hack.

A fight against Robotnik inside a cave. Before you ask, yes, you can hit Robotnik. The ground is high enough to give some hits. After all, it's the first boss.

This might or not might be the final version.

 

You should add the top of the grass. It would probably take about 4 extra tiles and 2 blocks, if you're including the grass under the waterfall.

 

But as a suggestion, @Burst, the grass could be made in the same style of Splash Hill zone from Sonic 4.

 

I must say, I really like the HUD style there!

 

Thanks. It was something I whipped up for the hack. The Sonic icon on the bottom left corner, on the other hand, is a leftover from when this was a Kaizo-like game. I'll probably replace it with an emerald count, as there's no lives in this game. Or I'll just get rid of it entirely. Haven't decided yet.

I am especially impreased by the pitch shifting feature, just by how gradual and smooth it is. Can't wait to play around with this.

 

Oh, Markey... I want this, I need this, I... I... My dream is really going to become true? I'm still waiting for the day I'll be able to use such a impressive artwork in my hack to finally make the eurodance style tunes I always dreamed to make in the Sega Genesis! This looks damn good! I can't wait, man. I'm really anxious for the day this brilliancy will become a worked thing in my game. I love you for this. I really love you even more than when you did the previous version!

You could have homaged the opening of Kirby's Dreamland 2 and it'd still leave me hyped but I do like how this looks

 

Yeah, I know the actual logo itself kinda looks like crap right now. I'll clean it up later. I just wanna show off how it animates.
