I had an short play on this update, and i have to say that the hack got improved. It's better now, althrough, you should change the eyes of ashuro a little bit. The other thing, I like this Green Hill Act 3 remix. This sounds really good. Third - Too many extra lives.

So, it's improved, but it is still enough place to improve left.

Thank you very much for your reviews, UnlimitedTrees and Trinitronity, i will keep your opinions in mind!

For the bas musics: i have created a lot of midi files, but the smps conversions are really bad, like the missings channels for the GHZ3 music.
If anyone want to help me to convert my midis to smps, it'll be nice. (i can't understand how to work with smps(maybe i'm lazy too :p).

Anyway, i will fix all the palette, empty levels problems.
The homing attack is only available with Super Sonic.

I think that i will completely change some layouts here and there.

Edit: Ok, i will take the time for Ashuro's eyes, bottomless pits and objects placement. (mostly extra lives).

Thank you again! (sorry for my google english :D )

I don't want to bore you with a shitload of details, so I'll sum it all up as much as I can.

Ok, the hack definitely plays much better than older builds. I don't even think that it will be necessary to change the level layouts completely - just make a couple of changes here and there and it will be good to go. Palettes in general are much better - it's nice to see you're getting the shading right in most cases. However, I think you should also fix Pyramid Trap 3's... The grass and the foreground in general doesn't look good like that. And, seeing how you improved the rest of palettes, I'm pretty sure it isn't an otherwordly effort for you to make, c'mon! I also have suggestions of art improvements, you can ask me in PM if you want to.

I would also mention some objects with glitched art (the spring in the end of Pyramid Trap 3, the Basaran badniks in Forest Heart's boss battle, among others) but I'm pretty sure you are perfectly aware. Also, I saw that Forest Heart 3 is called "Wood night" but it isn't giving me the night vibes. I suggest you look at how a night palette is done right (I know it's difficult, but we are here in case you need help with suggestions for improvement, heck, there's even a thread for that).

Keep going, you're doing it right.

Thank you very much, i'll make hard work for Pyramid Trap and Forest Heart, and the palettes.
For the spring at the end of PTZ3, i'm aware, i know it's a PLC problem. I will fix this issue.

Not a bad hack and unlike others here, I don't mind the OC, but some things need to be fixed (Such as the GLARING issue of Nega Ashuro being a glitchy mess of corrupted sprites) though Super Sonic's sprites are ok, probably cause they're ripped right out of Sonic 2 and I actually never had an issue with the bottomless pits, I didn't even realize they were there, lol

This needs to be brought to attention and it will give you even more of a reason to get rid of that pointless character switch monitor.
    [SHC2017] [compo2017] 39 - Sonic & Ashuro - By Ashuro000.jpg

This is what happens if you beat the game with a different character than who you started with, it causes the other characters layout not to load anymore when you start a new game. Which results in the game having to be hard reset.
Edit: Sorry this is kind of a bump but I think its important to know.
Edit2: Alright one more thing, I also noticed the drop dash if you land on a slope will not work, as in Sonic wont gain speed.

This hack is technically great and artistically very good. The Megamix's feel from this hack is really big. I really felt a lot of the touch of the same high quality result I felt in the past with Megamix and some other hack projects. This hack is simply amazing, very good and a lot of fun.

Just alerting: For some reason, the palettes became all messed up when I loaded the hack in the BizHawk/EmuHawk emulator. Though It works fine in Fusion. This hack is pretty incredible and it shows even more potential than the version you entered the last Hacking Contest. This is a very promising hack with dozens of original ideas. This hack is a lot fun to play. I just loved it!

Oh, thanks, but i'll try to improve it by myself, anyway... NOT WHY? x)

Thank you very much, i'm so glad! :D
I really enjoyed Megamix and it is my favorite hack. Megamix is the hack that made me know about rom hacks, and made me want to create my own.... So to say it reminds you the Megamix feel, it means a lot to me.

But for the technical problems, i'm really sorry, everyday, peoples tell me that there is a lot of problems, I try to update the ROM as they go along, but since everyone downloads the version of the hacking contest, a few will not be able to get out of this problem.

Normally, the compatibility issue is solved in the download link of this thread, and/or on my Youtube Channel:

I waited a long time for this version, was hyped etc.
And I didn't get disappointed, not at all. I even go so far calling it one of the best hacks in this years SHC.
This is a really great hack, you really redesigned in nicely and damn, it's just awesome! :)
    Good job Ashuro!

Now I know what I'll play on my YouTube channel after Sonic Legacy.

I do quite enjoy this hack, but I have one question.
Why do you still use those switch monitors?
It's more of a inconvenience than a benefit to switch characters, especially if you're doing a Sonic run or Ashuro run.
I'm sorry if this sounds negative, it's just something that I wanted to ask.

    Haha, you're welcome.

I try to find an alternative. In fact, each characters have their own level layout, but the switch monitor is a problem because you will never play all the stages of each characters.
Also, i want to put this monitor, only when it's needed. So i think, the wall run will be a feature for Sonic, and the double jump/wall jump areas for Ashuro.

Anyway, thanks for your review, i'll try to do my best.

Wouldn't it be better instead of having switch monitors, you have a sonic monitor and a ashuro monitor to make sure you are the right character?

Do you at least think you could add the ability to change characters while in the level select? I chose Ashuro through the main menu when I first started up the hack and was highly content with him and his moveset, but was forced to play as Sonic against my will when I decided to hop around and check out later levels.

An alternative could be to have the switch monitor on a timer (like invincibility and the like), reverting you back after a short time.
