And you're sure we're able to figure out your problem based on nothing but an error description?

Basically, we need more information. What did you use to port in the music? What driver are you using? There just isn't enough in your post to come to a clear conclusion.

Sonic 2 uses saxman compressed music. You will need to uncompress it and also account for the z80 > 68k conversion since the two games use a z80 based sound driver and a 68k based sound driver respectively.

Alternatively, you could just use S2B's version of EHZ. It's already decompressed, as are all the S2 music, and doesn't have to have its tempo converted.

What about the Super Sonic theme I want that in my hack since it has to be the S2 Final version I could use S2Beta songs in my hack.

I believe the S2 clone driver comes with preconverted songs, since it's essentially S1's driver ported to S2 (although the DAC will sound mixed up; good luck fixing that).

I could use the S2 Clone driver for SFX but i prefer to decompress the music using The Sega Data Compresser in Saxman format.

I don't think you understand... The S2 clone driver comes with a bunch of ready to go Sonic 1 music files of preconverted S2 songs. You don't have to change the code or anything, just drag and drop the files.

Honestly, it'd be easier to just go and grab the smps2asm music pack and just get it to work that way since all the songs are in smps asm format.

I am disappointed...pretty sure the music archive here has S2 stuff ported to S1... Ooooor, you could use the version in the clone driver...because you know. Stuff.

Ah, that horribly off-tempo, wrong-PSG stuff.

But, yeah, I'd recommend SMPS2ASM or SMPSConv. I don't trust MPF, what with its age.
