Well, first i kinda need the link to that porter,

And second, Could someone tell me how to do it right? The included guide didn't help and it never, EVER, ported right.

I think he means the S2Beta Music editor that includes a way of porting MIDI files to be used as BG and also the program that lets you port S2B to S2. I think he wants to edit the music in S2 by using the porter. I never got it successfully working. Try Hacking Cult's Utils Page.

He's talking about Sonic QX, but let me warn you right now, Sonic QX can only port simple MIDI's to S2Beta.

So what's a simple MIDI? This IRC snippet can explain:

Yeah, I wanted to port the Chaos Angel theme to S2beta, but seeing as it plays a million notes at one time, it can't be done.

Split the Midi into many. So you have a midi playing one instrument, another midi playing another, etc. SonicQX still can't do a very good job, but it does something.

bleh, I didn't say I could use SQX however. I'm more into learning ASM for use with Sonic 1 now, then I'm gonna dabble around in the music field.
