Enchancing Sonic 2

I found Sonic 3 Complete to be boring to play, Sonic CD 2011 I've never heard of, and ReadySonic was designed to be a disassembly that people could work on for fun, not designed to be a definitive version/ROM/whatever. And no, I personally wouldn't want a version, because I am sure that if everyone's version of Sonic 3 definitive is basically Sonic 3 Complete, I will blow my fucking brains out.


I'm looking to see hacks that go above and beyond, ones that do things that others DON'T do, that's what I would like to see, I don't want minor fixes, recreations, or HD remakes, I want NEW content, original content, etc.

Yes, the community would love to see Game Gear levels in Genesis/Mega Drive games, and they already have, there have been plenty of times I've seen bridge zone recreated for the Mega Drive, same goes for Jungle Zone, and a few others, so you're point goes right out the window there.

Considering only myself and redhotsonic are the only ones who have responded, I'm going to assume you've directed that at one of us, in which case I would like to remind you that we are not the only ones capable of giving you up or down votes, it could have been anyone at any time and hence, there is no reason to point the finger, I know I didn't, and I don't think redhot is that dense. I am just as upset as you are that people are giving down-votes and up-votes on posts without a valid cause, it's something I've brought up myself quite a few times now, but that's how the system works, you'll have to live with that I'm afraid.

No one is expecting you to be something you're not, I would like you to be yourself personally, but I would also like you to stop overreacting about the situation, people don't want to get involved, you cannot fource them, that is their decision, you don't have to agree with it, but you do have to respect the fact that people have different thoughts and different tastes, you cannot play god around here and want people to do what you do, like what you like, and say what you say, it doesn't work that way and it never will.

Machenstein, all I and MarkeyJester has done is tried to help you. You are over-reacting a bit. All I said is that the "tails flying" code is a bit too advance at "this time". But in the future, you'll be ready for it. You can't have everything now.


As for the voting, who cares. I never take any notice of it. I haven't voted you down, and neither has MJ. You can click where you've been voted on your own post, and it will tell you who's voted you up and/or down.

 

I don't expect everyone to join my project nor do I intend on forcing them to. I also don't expect others to share my worldview because, trust me, I tried that before and it never worked. I've just grown tired of being brushed aside by the rest of the Sonic community, whether it be Sonic Stadium and various other forums.


I'm not angry or anything, I'm just in the middle of re-evaluating why I bother trying to preserve the integrity of the Sonic series to begin with. That's part of the reason why I want to renew Sonic 2. Sega themselves don't care about Sonic's legacy, and I wish to make an original Sonic game that rekindles it, but I'm not at that level yet. In the meantime, I thought I would try a Sonic 2 hack first to familiarize myself with a programming environment.


So I'll take your advice, MJ. I'll start with something even smaller such as those experimental hacks I mentioned. Now, if you excuse me, I'll part before I cause anymore drama today.
