Also, that pony flew right through the damn loop!!
Plus the palettes are kinda iffy at the moment.
wow, nice use of vladikcomper's MegaPCM sound driver, whats the level select and level music called?
That's kinda how my metalsonic works in my hack, It must of been in debug mode or something though to go through the loop like that.
Sonic The Hedgehog Emerald Land:
What do you think of the level design? Is it good? Difficult?
Comments, feedbacks and constructive critcism are welcome!
It certainly looks tricky, so if you're going for a difficult game I can definitely commend you. I do think that beginning section with the swinging platforms could stand to give you just a bit more leeway for your jumps.
Also, I really like the music choices.
I'm back with a bundle of screenshots: p
MZ has not fully completed yet: p
Nice and easy on the eyes, good work.
Great job, this is looks beautiful. ^_^
Not sure if this is the _right_ thread, but it sounds similar.
My first sprite for my new S2 project.
(Kudos if you can figure out where it's from!)
This would probably go better in the general drawing or art threads.
It goes on...
First question, who the fuck is Terra? Please tell me not a fan character.
Anywho, I'm really hoping you change the level art as well, because those sprites will literally clash with everything. The style isn't even the same much less eye appealing. I guess good job for a beginner, but please for the love of Tweakallah and the Holy Naka fix "Terra's" sprites, because they don't work.
Also, I'm being quite serious, who the fuck is Terra?
It took me a lot of searching, but this is my best guess.
Thank you nineko, that really helps in determining what I'm actually supposed to see now. My opinion is still the same nevertheless. The sprites don't match the style of the level art and tbh, it's quite jarring.
Considering it seems they've only just started on the sprites themselves, as the previous post to it was just the standing frame, something tells me they haven't even started on the level graphics yet at all. Let's wait and see, shall we, before jumping to conclusions that defy common sense in this situation.
Fair point. It's just really bothersome to my eyes. Like I know he just started on the sprite art, he's been going on about it on IRC, I'm just hoping he either changes the level art or really works on the sprite art and make it fit with the style. Namely because working on the sprites any further without fixing them is a waste of time unless he has plans to change the level art later down the road.
I may as well show off what I had of my hack I have been working on for a couple months now. The source completely broke so there's no more working on it...
If the source is broken, then perhaps you should start a refresh on a new, blank, source. The resource data (art, palette, layout, etc) will be easily transferable (assuming you haven't made any software engine changes).
I'd hate to see your project fall at such an early stage.
Everything in my hack was destroyed sadly.
I ended up accidently saving over the GHZ level art with something else and I didn't back up the GHZ art. I ended up making the idiot mistake of thinking I could use split.bat to restore stuff from a later build of my hack so I could get my art back. That ended up destroying everything I had worked on. Including the art, music, layouts, everything...
And I have no idea of how to get any of it back, if it's even possible.
I'll probably end up working on a new project now.
