Work in progress...
How is that even possible? :O
Just a while ago I made a video-compilation of my old bosses (including unreleased one). Since some people liked the idea and I've still got plenty of bosses to show, here comes Part 2!
This one focuses for the most part on newer (mid 2010-s) and catchier bosses I made for other hacks, given that those hacks were already released or the bosses in question were publicly showcased before.
It also features an exclusive footage of a particularly interesting boss that some of you might've seen (if you're frequently checking on every hack/project), but in quite a different package! (some of its aspects were modified or scrapped eventually)
Hope you enjoy it~
You certainly know how to come back with a bang. Good to see you around again, and I can't wait to see that in action.
Something I should have made a long time ago....
After a few months, I've finally got enough things from KawariNo (which is actually Sonic 1 Delta, just renamed to be more unique) to show in a video.
I've decided that, since the hack's development is soon nearing it's end, I should make an edit of the infamous Sonic 1 Shinsaku Prototype video.
There is a problem at the beginning of the video where the original Shinsaku video itself plays in the background while KawariNo's title screen is playing. I would have fixed this had my editing software actually rendered correctly, but other than that, I think the video should be fine. I tried making the new footage look a bit similar to the real Shinsaku footage, too.
Spoiler: Some notes about progress on the hack
As you'll be able to tell, most zones here are mostly complete. I will be making a semi-new boss for GHZ, so that it's not just the normal Green Hill Boss for a more fresh experience.
For LZ, I'm still aiming to make it the second zone and make it easy and less painful.
MZ is mostly finished and needs a boss.
SLZ is mostly complete and just needs polishing.
SYZ is also mostly finished but act 3 needs some work.
Special Stages/Bonus Stages are halfway done; they're stable right now, but they're going to get quite the change once I get to actually work on them.
The rest of the zones need a lot of work, but progress is being made on them.
One of Hellfire saga's old bosses (And by the way, hack's the very first boss) got the revamp.
This is Sonic Ultimate Rebirth, a hack made by the Neo Kyukyoku Team (which I'm part of) that is a spiritual remake of Sonic Kyukyoku (the hack in SHC 2018 with the title screen saying "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT."). This focuses on new characters, new art and many more. This hack still has a long way to go, but I figured that I would share some sneak peeks alongside how I'm feeling so far. Credits to the team and the hack will be in the video description.
Here it is in action.
The hard work is done. Now it is time to round off the edges.
Today is my birthday! I want to show a screenshot from a future Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Epilogue Hack. Enjoy!
Is a pleasure make bussiness, and work with you. Happy birthday my friend!
This right here is an attempt to recreate the GHZ palette from the Pre-WCES build of Sonic 1, should be fairly close to what was described on the TCRF page.
Here's an in-emulator pic of this palette in action.
I'd just like to point out that WCES itself had a different BG art wise: all the browns in the BG were shifted upwards one shade. This only changed near our current prototype. This can be seen clear as day in many, many, many images of GHZ. So, might wanna do that if you're trying to recreate the "CC" time period (aka, Ballhog) to Teradrive time period.
Welp I missed one of the shades in the last pic (unsure if that explains it), it should look better here. Plus I intended to only recreate the palette for the time being, haven't decided if I was going to change up the background art or reposition the tiles in the BG chunks to for a close resemblance.
Plus obligatory palette display from SonLVL for further analysis.
