Looking good. The stars could come out in a more interesting way, maybe the card could bounce one last time after the stars, and that sea would look LOTS better with line-by-line scrolling.
Considered the former, and I have no clue how to do the latter at the moment, the current sea scrolling is to hold over until we figure that out with the parallax engine we're using (MarkeyJester's).
you've seen it here first, kids
[the gif that was here was not an april fools' mockup]
limited time sneak peek ended
So, I went into my personal archives and found this:
Spoiler: PLS DO NOT STEAL
(Credits to Neweegee for the title screen sprite)
Also, April Fools.
SonicTFS is back in development.
Also it was a hack I worked on for a long time and then I quit it and started other hacks until now. This is probably the hack I spent the most work on.
And there isn't much to do here unless you hack so...
And you probably don't even know this hack or its purpose. I might share it later on.
Quick edit: SonicTFS is not the full name, its the alternative name.
Original image links (in order):
Edit may 2nd 2022: resized images.
The images still look big though.
Sonic the Hedgehog Megadriven, now with the Insta Shield (Thank you Team Overdriven for helping me porting it ) also there is new art for Sunset Coast.
Quick edit: Double Jump get moved to the A button and Insta Shield to the B and C
Could you please make your images a little smaller? They're unnecessarily big. Also, I'd recommend using the screenshot function of your emulator of choice, rather than photographs of a screen. It seems you did so in your signature, so why not here?
I usually screenshot with full screen and i usually don't even use the emulator's screenshot function even though this time I used my phone which is why its so big.
It took me only 8 years to add different flame sprites for decoration and obstacles :--DDD
Announcing a "new" project!
Spoiler: Video's description
That's right, it's Score Rush again. I told myself that the time I learn how to render text on the Mega Drive would be the time I remaster Sonic 1 - Score Rush, as there's a lot of nifty features I wanted to have, but could only implement with that know-how. And that time has finally come.
I decided that, instead of just using the "PRESS START BUTTON" font to display "SCORE RUSH" on the title screen, I'd make something fancier. It was not terribly easy to code in, and I was afraid of lacking sufficient VRAM, but luckily, Green Hill's background was far enough into VRAM for me to replace a good portion of the foreground art with the new "SCORE RUSH" emblem I made. I must say, I'm really proud of how it came out, despite the amount of vertical screen estate occupied by the Title Screen on its whole.
Big thanks to MunchJrGames, Slick-Nick and Dr-Luxcario for their work on the Sonic 1 emblem font sprite sheet! Go check it out here.
As for release dates, Score Rush shouldn't take too long to develop. I'm pushing for a June release, but I guarantee nothing.
Also, for the time being, I will be putting most of my focus on Score Rush, therefore, I'm putting Sonic Magnified's development on hold.
Guess this is a hint at something... Maybe...
Is this based on the rom Ported Sonic 3 Sprites from Clownacy?
I was able to follow the tutorial pretty easily, currently just moved the project to a older version of the Sonic 1 Disassembly that includes the AMPS sound driver.
It's gonna take at least a day or so before it goes back to the progress that I had previously but yea
Fractal Sound update! 1st video by me, 2nd by @FoxConED
Check video description for demo ROM, Discord link and repository link, which is now public!
Is Sonic not supposed to have a torso? Are you doing something akin to Rayman, with Sonic's hands and feet functioning accordingly?
sir... these are just sprites taken from Sonic god damn 3...
Mean behavior aside, it's literally just a frame from the game's animation
I wasn't being mean. In fact, I'd love to see the idea of Sonic with Rayman-like gameplay elements.
Separate names with a comma.
