Looks amazing so far. Excited for when it comes out and I can try it on my Genesis
This Badnik reminds me the Big Telly from Megaman & Bass!
Who does not know the enemy, drops incendiary bombs that burns the ground.
Go to minute 37:30 to see it in action:
I've been working on-and-off on a Mega Drive emulator since September, and I've just implemented YM2612 emulation.
I've written a blog post detailing the process of adding this, which you can read here. I've also documented other aspects of developing the emulator, such as the VDP's Interlace Mode 2 and Shadow/Highlight mode. You can find a list of my emulator-related blog posts here.
Nothing has changed much since a year ago, except now there's an airship:
Personally debating if I should revamp the entire foreground, keep it, or redo everything like I'm high on crack since its an SYZ clone so just incase:
To detail the background, you can put soccer banners.
(Admit it, you love my editing, don't you? XD)
I've done that already years ago but couldn't add more banners due to vram space. this static bg is meant for the title screen which hides most of the checkerboard wall.
Forgive me, I did not know about this fact...
Unfortunately I don't realize the limitations of the console
Here is a music video of Labyrinth Zone Act 1, featuring the mod's new logo, plus a few more screenshots:
Spoiler: Warning, large screenshots
This is a fun amalgamation of multiple projects of mine: this is my Mega Drive emulator running my Sound Test homebrew (unreleased) running my Sonic 2 Clone Driver v2 running my custom two-channel DAC driver. Now all I have to do is get my homebrew to build with my assembler (also unreleased) and we'll have the very epitome of NIH syndrome.
Speaking of the emulator, it now has partial Z80 emulation, allowing the music's drums to finally be heard.
Just another proto EHZ...
alright. im back. and new changes. Sonic Rebooted has been Changed to ProjectBP im working on the levels first then the tiles.
My emulator finally gives the Z80 instructions their proper durations, so DAC samples now play at the correct speed. With this, some games are now fully emulated with no missing or broken features. This may be the last update here for a while.
The Background reminds me a lot of Secret Ocean in Sonic 1 - Brother Trouble, a game that I love very much!
this is what boredom does to a me
Coming soon... in 2050
Is it actual Sonic CD hack? Or PPZ and badnik from it were recreated in different game?
This is a real hack, based on old R11A disasm by ralakimus
I've been working on this for the past few months, and I'm finally able to put together a proper video to show a part of this hack in a presentable state:
I thought using the Mania trailer as a base would be neat for this, I think it's a really energetic trailer, with it's own intro where you've got room to explain things before you show off the big stuff.
