Looks more like GHZ on Game Boy. Is this just a slight art and palette change or is there more?

 

It's more, I edited level layout, special stages, SMPS, other zones etc. but it's still work in progress.

 

You don't mind a teaser for a thing?

 

Sigh, meme hack strikes again... In all seriousness I like palette, but I don't think red bushes in BG fits. Hope this version will have custom tiles. Speaking of tiles... What do you think about this one?

 

Not bad and no. Donnie The Chao 2 is in fact an original Sonic 2 Hack with custom art and Music.

 

That palette is really nice. However, your art always seems to suffer the problem of repetitiveness. Those 16x16 blocks with diamonds in them pretty much fill up half the screen. The other half is the way too simple backdrop. If you don't already, try exporting your art to an image file. That gives you much more freedom and makes creating and editing art much easier. Also, what are the ladders to nowhere for? They don't seem to have any purpose and don't match the theme of the stage.

Those colors are way too saturated to be appealing and clash horribly with the grays. Also, what's with the monochrome color scheme on Donnie? The HUD looks really cool.

 

Well this is just to show off that I am working on a sequel to Donnie The Chao. But yea the hud is gonna be in the sequel with a twist.

 

Bumper Abuse, died many times, but passed. All SMPS made by me. LX is boiling something challenging/frustrating...

 

I don't think you should be slapping ladders all around the foreground of a game where you can't climb ladders.

 

Xernom, you should add some slopes in level layout too. Do not repeat my mistakes!

 

I'll replace ladders with something more logical. About slopes the reason I avoid this element in my levels until now is fear that slopes editing will cause collision detection glitches, but I'll do my best to sorta implement it to levels next time. Meanwhile I did another level featuring spring abuse, luckily I passed it without hit. SMPS made by me.

(Yeah, it's not much, but I just wanted to give a sign that this is still being worked on.)

 

About time that Tidal Tempest (Present) finally gets some love in background usage once more, it's definitely been a while; I would even go as far to say that it changes the timing of when Luster Labyrinth is supposed to take place, Nighttime fits it rather well.
I must ask though: Will we be seeing the active Volcanic Eruptions from Tidal Tempest (Present) in this background, or will it simply remain idle; it always felt right seeing those explosions in the background and lighting things up a bit upon entering TTZ, it would be a missed opportunity if it wasn't touched up upon in some way, that was the best part of it.

Sonic 1 Dragon Edition is still being worked on. Lots of work is being done on improving sounds and music.
Here's a small puzzle based around the metal shield. You can also notice other changes such as sound harmonization, new sound effects, revamped music, and new drum samples.
