Invision Community Suite is Coming!

The days of IPB 3.7.x are numbered. This weekend (I hope anyway), the forums will be upgraded to Invision Community Suite 4.0.2. Yeah, sue me for not doing this as soon as 4.0 was released. We'll be saying "fuck off" to all the fan favourites, like the broken skins, the infamous ASM tag highlighter, and hopefully the RTE (or rich text editor) issues. So, don't be surprised if you drop by the forums over the weekend and find them unavailable. You'll know something better is coming. At least, I hope it's fucking better.

 

ICS4 was built from scratch. At least, that what Invision says. I'll soon find out.

 

OK, I plan to do the upgrade to Community Suite 4.0.4 (yeah, it's been updated twice in the time since I downloaded the software a week a ago, to add insult to injury, 4.0.3 was made available about 30 minutes after I downloaded 4.0.2) some time after 6 pm (+1 GMT). The entire process may take a few hours, as I'll need to do a spot of required prep work first, before I can actually upload the new forums files and do the upgrade.

 

OK, there may be a delay on the upgrade front. Run into a little snag that's preventing me from going ahead with the necessary prep work on the backend. Contacted Seanie, the server admin, about it. Just need to wait for him to get back to me. So, the upgrade may not happen until tomorrow now, as the prep work is mandatory.

 

As you may have noticed, the forum upgrade didn't happen yesterday (it's after midnight here in the UK), as something came up. Will happen sometime this afternoon or evening. If I real life stuff doesn't pop up to say "hello" again.
