3 pages of drama in 7 hours? I'm not even reading so excuse me if there's actually some quality content in here, I just wanted to compliment SeanieB on that awesome banner in his sig.

And to say everyone should put this much effort into posting quality content in other sections.

Well... that was interesting. Amazing how much can happen from trashing a topic!

    Cup of tea anyone?

    Ugh....

This really needs to stop. If anything, all of this complaining etc is going to scare members away. This is supposed to be a site which welcomes people new to the community with open arms, help them learn what's acceptable in the community. Hell, it even teaches to improve grammar, because people who are genuinely interested will improve their grammar to become a good member. I know it worked for me. When I joined the community, I was given chance after chance after chance. What is wrong with given someone another chance? The idea is for them to be able to wipe the slate clean, and try to better themselves/their attitude.

Seriously, stop all the whining, all started because some of you don't like to give people another chance, though I'm sure some of you have already been given another chance yourselves. Learn to respect decisions.

Seanie, I must say you caused me to lose a lot of respect for you in these posts. Stop hopping the bandwagon, and maybe start being more like hedgie. Yeah, he is against quite a lot, from what I've seen, but you can also see in this topic that he'll listen to both sides, as you can tell from him saying Voice had a few good points.

tl:dr: Learn to give another chance.

Q: You can make me one when (if) you get here saturday =P

Voice had a few good points...until he pulled out the SonicArchive fiasco which NO ONE UNDERSTANDS.

Sorry but now I have to agree with Seanie. Voice was talking out of his ass, and even though SeanieB brought it up....it was going to come up sooner or later. Hell, I did that when Shadow Fa- er, Fire pulled that bullshit on his wiki-page.

Although seanieB, it wasn't cool when you taunted Q there. Issues like this can only be resolved if we don't blow up over each other.

Double-Post to ensure that I get my word out in case this topic gets locked.

Also, please don't lock this topic at this point in time. You're only going to keep pushing the problem until it comes to a head later on.

Now, let's see here, the thing with this community is that it tends to favor older members against newer ones. Look at my ban record on Retro. I'm unbanned AGAIN. If we count the times I've been banned since it was SWS2B and Classic combined, I've been banned and unbanned over a record 7 times. Compare that to a newer member. They've only been banned once when they proved themselves to be dumbasses and never heard from again. There are exceptions. SOTI was a retard but he reformed himself. Tarheeltim also was one, but he reformed himself...then decided to become a troll again. This is why I believe the way SeanieB was kinda treated unfairly, but I can't explain the logic going into Selbi's unbannal

Chaos Hedgie is a troll. Hell I can troll better than Tweaker. But I'm one with good intentions, if that's impossible. I've trolled Retro, Cult, and these boards for over 10 years and I'm still alive to tell the tale.

So coming to you as a well-known dramawhoring troll, I'm advising you that Selbi's unbanning is NOT the wisest choice. Unlike SOTI he has not really redeemed himself...only coping and pasting some guides, modifying little text.

But srsly guys calm the fuck down.

I agree SeanieB was treated unfairly, but that was out of my control, and it was a 2 against 1 vote. As for the old members thing, I agree entirely, partly the reason I got rid of the oldbie group, it serves no purpose other than to create inequality.

The way I judge whether a person should be banned or not is on their intent. Selbi has screwed up a couple of times sure, but I don't believe for a moment he did these things maliciously or with harmful intent. He's making an effort to contribute and to improve himself. The last ban wasn't even entirely fair, his guide was known to have private code in for quite some time by the original author, but they only chose to start kicking up a fuss about it once the guide actually became popular.

I don't yet plan to lock the topic, as I don't want to try and sweep this under the carpet, everyone should say what they think. I want to make this the best place for everyone basically, while also giving everyone a fair chance.

...but you've been doing other things against their will, so would it really have mattered?

Does not excuse the fact that what he did was wrong. Perhaps the original author didn't know anything until the guide became more popular. "Hmm, I wonder what this fuss is all about...HEY THAT'S MY CODE".
ffs sometimes I swear I could run these messageboards better than the current admins can.

That's like saying it isn't right for a person to take action against someone for possessing their code, even though they've been hanging on to that code for months, and it was only recently discovered that they were hanging on to it. Oh wai-

    Oh cool.

Also SUK: I understand your rage against Qjimbo, but you really have to include Mad. After all, if Mad didn't pull out his dumb ass decisions, the code wouldn't be leaked out all over the internet. Q had somewhat good intentions, according to his perspective for taking the code. Doesn't excuse the fact that it was wrong though

Nope, I've never gone directly against their wishes. I've acted alone, but never against.

Nah I spoke to Hanoch and he explained how he was fine with the guide, until it started appearing in many hacks and it was worried that it would become overused. Selbi put up a fight about it, presumably because he thought it was benefitting people, and ended up causing a situation.

Okay, guess I was talking out my ass there.

And again, I guess I'm talking out my ass here.

    My fault folks.

You were about to call me Shadow Fag, weren't you? lol! I don't mind. I take that with a grain of salt.

As for the Wiki page, I was drunk when writing up part of it, and considering we'd not long finished hurling arguments back and forth... the rest tells itself. I find you to be a really cool guy, when you're not being a complete asshole about some things. Consider that part of the wiki entry removed.

Now, getting back on topic... Jim... if Stephen has decided to leave here... and if Ordos authorises it, I'll take Stephen's place if it's alright. I have the knowhow with IPB... and I run a few other communities. They may only be small now, but I have had bigger ones in the past. Oh, and Jim? I'll have a cup of tea. Milk with two sugars please. =P

    hur hur I'm original aren't I?

I was just really insulted. I had though for those discussions that we argued over, that I had proved my points logically (remember I was posting walls of text about the whole racial argument), so while searching in the wiki for "Hedgie" (to pull my page up faster) I caught your reference, read it, got pissed, tried to remove it, Tweaker put it back, and I got even more pissed. My bad for lashing out on you

I still think SUK needs to calm down before he resigns though

There's nothing for me to calm down about, it's something that's been on the cards for a while, but the shit recently has just made more certain that I want out. I don't have that much interest in the community any more if I'm honest. I still have an interest in hacking, but the level of shit that hangs around this community is pathetic. Personally, I had a much better time hacking before I joined the community when this kind of crap didn't affect or concern me at all.

The community is good for things like the guides and wiki, it's just a shame that certain groups of individuals choose to cause shit, flame people... you know, the usual shit. That's why I don't visit here much anymore, I very rarely post anywhere in the community, and I haven't made any kind of contribution of knowledge in ages, despite the fact that I could have answered a number of the questions in these boards, and could have posted various info and guides I have written up, but I couldn't find any reason why I would want to bother with a community that doesn't interest me any more, especially with the level of stupidity, arrogance and deceit that's involved in it these days.

Tl;dr - I want out, the community no longer interests me, and to quote Joe Swanson of Family Guy, "You're all a bunch of queers".

After recent developments I want to recant all opinions of me bitching about Selbi being unbanned.

    Because I'd be a hypocrite.

I'm tired of being one-sided, if I can't bash both sides on bullshit policies, I might as well keep shit to myself.

That's exactly what I like to see. When someone admits a fault of theirs, and resolves it however they can. Chaos Hedgie, you have earned respect points. :p
