Sometime early this year, SonicVaan kept complaining about his boredom, it got to a point where he mentioned it every 2 minutes, so I started a small rom hack that would feature a maze like level for him to play around with, it began as a simple rom which extended into one of several proof of concepts, mainly graphical stuff you don't see in many hacks of today (yet?).

Rather than sit here talking about it, I'll just leave a download link and that'll be it, enjoy!

    Code:
Credits (As written in game too)

    Concept/Ideas:

    SonicVaan

    Irixion

    Selbi

    Bug Testing:

    SonicVaan

    DalekSam

    theocas

    SOTI

    Special Music Thanks:

If you notice any bugs, then you'll be right in guessing that this was partly rushed =P

    A hack without jumpdash!? :D

It's really impressive technically. The visual effects, changing layout, huuuuuuge boss and musics are all very well done. The graphics are a little boring though, but it wouldn't really be a labyrinth if it was too easy to recognize each corridor.

I find it surprising that the new maximum jump height felt so natural. I always thought such a change would take some time to get used to. After all, every time it got lowered in a hack or game I had problem with it, but not here.

One detail though: at one point, there are 3 monitors (swap, ring, swap), and it's really easy to get stuck into the wall while breaking the monitor on the right and then sent to the wrong side.

Other than that, it's great :D

    Obama is pleased.

No seriously I applaud you for your work, I like a challenge and thats exactly what I got! I mean.. i'm still try to do it! Fantastic!. The little markey character is awsome, as well as the fire and ice effects and the monitor chunk swap makes it very confusing in a good way! The only criticism, the music doesn't really fit in a sonic game.... I thought it was a suprise and I was intregued but then thought " nah.... not for me" but its most likely just my own opinion. I got to the boss and was like holy shit! MEGA FUCKING CATERKILLER!! INCREDIBLE!!.... but got crushed in seconds..... and ended up at the begining of the level.... that seriously sucked.... but I will complete it, i'm determined to.

I didn't get to the boss, it's way too confusing.

Well, well... Finally I found the most strong opponent for Sonic Harder Levels. There has great songs, fantastic graphics and a very enjoyable gameplay. Especially this hack is the thing I love most: The pleasure of the difficulty. That maze is amazing, huh? The whole set I saw there is perfect. No more words. Simply... Congratulations, MarkeyJester!

One thing I wondered is: How did you simulate more than one plane B with the pillars.
