Same here, Irix. This without say that the 128x128 chunks give us infinitely more layout possibilities when placing chunks for make layouts.

Also, Markey, it was the time of someone to alert people about the object placements. This is a very important thing wich the people needs to take as the main point of a level. This is why my hack delay a lot of time to be released: The team does a huge load of analysis on every piece of the layouts of S1HL. These people wich are new in hacking or even the oldbies in the level design must keep in mind that these tiny details is what make their layouts better or worse than some more professional ones. The same goes to the collision. I've noticed at least a dozen of hacks wich has poor solidity on chunks after making custom chunks in their stages.

I was going to suggest that as well, but I figured most people don't have Grid paper, so I just made it generalized paper.

Go for it. I would love for people to know this widely unknown trick. Helps these new kids on the block get better at level layouts as we know it. Hell, right now I'm working on a new ARZ layout. Started it after my Anatomy final today.

Also, should it be mentioned that having little objects drawn in, or having obj numbers written where they will be in-game. That in itself is also a big thing I've been noticing in hacks. Poorly thought out object layouts.

Drawing your levels out is great, helps me a lot when planning stuff out. Although I don't want anyone taking credit. It's called concept design and concept art and isn't really 'someone's' to begin with :u

Another thing to try is to place objects down properly, and if unsure about its positioning test it out in game before moving on. I generally place my objects in two phases. Phase 1 being as I'm doing the layout; the solidity objects, to fix various collision issues that are there or if I want a player to take a specific path (repurposing chunks). Phase 2 is going back to the start and adding rings and what not.
